Value education is the process of increasing a student's overall character through character development, personality development, and spiritual development. It involves both explicit and implicit methods. Explicit values education refers to pedagogies and programs teachers use to create learning experiences around values. Implicit values education covers aspects of the educational experience that unintentionally influence values through the hidden curriculum. There is a need for value education to guide technological and scientific progress, rediscover common values to unite humanity, help students develop decision making abilities, address juvenile delinquency issues, and teach cultural values while distinguishing right from wrong and continuing societal traditions.
