The concept of jobs to be done provides a lens through which we can understand value creation. The term was made popular by business leader Clayton Christensen in The Innovator’s Solution, the follow-up to his landmark book The Innovator’s Dilemma.

Throughout this career path, she has learned that being a ‘Jack of all trades’ (or Jill!) has helped push her career forward and that being a generalist has allowed her not just to be a better PO but overall a better product leader.
In this talk, Claire will talk through:
- What UX principles she recommends for product professionals to have a strong base on,
- How has this helped her in her day-to-day role
- What product principles she would have wanted to have known about earlier in her career, and
- How being a T-shaped product owner has helped her democratise and create value in UX principles

Good UX design can make a website many times more profitable, while poor UX design can put a company out of business in the right situations. It's worth taking a look to determine if YOUR business could be furthered by some great user experience design.
UX is way more than most people think. I believe that UX is a mindset that everyone should carry. This is how I approach UX, and think it's beneficial for everyone to know a process that works.
NOTE: This represents a talk I gave to some students embarking on a career in the UX field.
