This whitepaper examines the effectiveness of four different retrospective think aloud (RTA) methods in web usability testing, comparing an un-cued RTA to three cued methods: video, gaze plot, and gaze video cues. The study found that using any type of cue increased participant output and improved usability problem identification, with gaze plot and gaze video cues producing the most comments and insights. The paper highlights the importance of integrating eye tracking data with qualitative insights to enhance usability research.
