Adventure Rock is a virtual world created by the BBC for children aged 7-11. It is set on an island with different zones and levels for children to explore alone. Children can engage in creative activities like drawing, animation, and music. Researchers conducted workshops with 90 children to gather feedback on Adventure Rock and ideas for virtual worlds. Thirteen principles for successful virtual worlds for children were identified, such as being social, creative, and providing a sense of control and exploration.
