UPL has been participating in CWMP trials since 2018, evaluating herbicide combinations and moisture management products. IITA runs highly professional trials using scientific methods and openness to new ideas. CWMP findings have helped UPL develop new products, build stakeholder confidence, and address challenges like disease. UPL will launch the post-emergence herbicide Lifeline in April 2019, evaluated by IITA, to manage glyphosate resistance and replace Paraquat with a safer product. 5. UPL Participation in CWMP
UPL joined CWMP project in 2018.
We are evaluating various combination of pre-emergence and post-emergence herbicide.
we are testing a moisture management product.

7. Relevance of CWMP finding
to UPL
We have developed various products post screening by CWMP program.
CWMP finding have helped in building positive opinion, judgement about the products by stakeholders .
CWMP Findings have contributed towards knowledge & progress on prevailing disease & other challenges , its time
saving and we are going to introduce various products in near future required by the farmers to improve their farm
productivity, better returns.

8. What we are going to do ?
UPL is launching Lifeline in April 2019, a post emergence herbicide, evaluated by IITA .
The product will help in the management of the Glyphosate resistance weeds and also a replacement of Paraquat because
of its non-carcinogen profile ,better environmental and toxicity profile.
In 2020, UPL will launch Pre-emergence herbicide after the trials are over in October -2019. This will help
farmers in Cassava Maize cropping system.
