African Journal of Food, Agriculture, Nutrition and Development (AJFAND) is an Open Access, scientific, peer reviewed, scholarly journal with a global reach, published in Kenya since 2001.AJFAND was founded in 2001 by Hon. Prof. Ruth Oniang’o who is the Editor-in-Chief, to provide an avenue for publishing scholarly works by African scholars and others who share an interest in topics related to food and nutrition security, agriculture and development; and also to give visibility to budding academics in Africa. AJFAND has been published by African Science Communications Trust (ASSCAT) since the year 2009. The goal of AJFAND is to provide a platform through which food and nutrition issues and information concerning Africa, and its unique problems can be effectively disseminated and addressed. The journal also provides an avenue for sharing information on national, regional and international-level food and nutrition programs. AJFAND is accessible online and fully Open Access.

2. Janice Olawoye became a Professor of Rural Sociology in 1998 at
the Department of Agricultural Extension and Rural Development,
University of Ibadan, where she taught for 38 years – from 1978 to
2016 when she voluntarily retired. She served the University in
various administrative and committee capacities including Head of
Department from 1998–2004 and 2009-2010 and as the first female
Dean of the Faculty of Agriculture and Forestry (2004-2006) as well
as several University and Senate Committees.
She has supervised 30 PhDs and many Masters and undergraduate
students. She has over 70 publications in journals, chapters of
books and other professional outlets and has carried out over 60
consultancy assignments for international and national
development organizations.
Rev. (Professor) Janice Olawoye
3. Professor Olawoye has worked with IITA by facilitating three
workshops for project development with African
Development Bank; serving on Technical Advisory Board for
YIFSWA program and working as a consultant for the
improvement of IITA Postgraduate Fellowship Program.
Rev. (Professor) Olawoye is happily married to Rev. (Dr.) O.O.
Olawoye who is the Founder of Faith Bible Church, where she
is also an ordained Pastor. The Olawoyes are the Proprietors
of King’s Group of Schools. The Olawoyes are blessed with
four sons, three of whom are married, and six beautiful
grandchildren.
5. Ghislain Tepa-Yotto is a holder of a Ph.D.
degree in Entomology/Plant Health and
Plant Protection obtained at the
Norwegian University of Life Sciences
(NMBU).
Originally, he taught as senior lecturer at
the National University of Agriculture
(UNA) in Benin Republic. He joined IITA in
May 2017 as visiting scientist and
coordinator of the Biorisk Management
Facility (BIMAF).
6. His special focus links to invasive species
management and the development of early
warning and rapid response including
digital agriculture tools under a climate-
smart agriculture approach.
Ghislain Tepa-Yotto is currently leading
‘Integrated Pest Management’ activities
within IITA’s new projects ‘Climate-smart
agricultural technologies for improved rural
livelihoods and food security in Mali and
Niger’.
