Why does it resonate for you?
 Education is an important development for the world, especially for children. Growing up I was
taught by my parents that education is the number one goal that I should focus on because it will
provide a better future for me. With an education, I could be doing a lot of great things for the
world. I want to use my education to be able to get a job because I want to give back to my
parents. They sacrificed so much for my sisters and I. I believe that If less fortunate children
around the world can be given the same opportunity to get an education as other children, then
the world would be a better place for everyone.
How can your interest be applied locally?
 My interest can be applied locally in one of many ways. The first would be to use the power of
voting. Through the power of voting, many people will have a say in important matters such as
education. The second idea is to do a fundraising campaign. This campaign would allow an
organization to use the money to provide papers and pencils, and even books to children. The
money could also be used to build an educational building. If the money is not enough to build
one, then it should be enough to rent one so that volunteers can have the opportunity to use
their knowledge to teach the children that may want to have an education.
Where can you personally make the greatest
contribution?
 I can make the greatest contribution through volunteering. I can volunteer my hours to help tutor
or teach children. I believe that if everybody was willing to volunteer a couple of hours from their
week, then it would be possible to provide children with an education.
Is there a feature of social media that can be
uniquely applied to this goal?
 Social media can be applied to this goal by the power of online groups and videos. On
Facebook, people can create a personalized group which could focus on providing important
information for volunteers or people looking to get a free tutor and lessons. Videos can be used
to provide an online learning environment, which means endless people can have access to
these educational videos. Social media can also be used to get people’s attention. A fundraising
campaign could be created and shared with many people, making it easier for anyone to be
informed.
