Basic question types
There are three types of questions: yes/no questions, question word questions, and choice questions. Tag questions are statements followed by a mini-question to ask for confirmation or agreement. The structure is a positive statement followed by a negative tag or vice versa. Intonation and the meaning of the response depends on whether the responder agrees or disagrees with the statement. Tag questions with imperatives are used to make polite requests. Same-way question tags use a positive-positive or negative-negative structure to express interest, surprise or other attitudes rather than asking an actual question.
Past simple presentation
This document provides information about forming and using the past simple tense in English. It discusses:
1) The past simple expresses completed actions in the past. Regular verbs are formed by adding "-ed" to the infinitive form. There are exceptions for verbs ending in "e", consonant+y, and doubled consonants.
