• 12th grade AP English class
• The students age ranges between 16-18 years
old
• There are no disabilities
• 23 students- 16 White Americans; 2 Japanese
Foreign exchange 1- Muslim 4 African Americans
• Entry Competencies:
• The 12th grade class have already read
the book in our English class
• Students were asked a series of questions
before reading and to write them in a
journal
• To identify and develop
a deeper understanding
of the themes and
characters
• Monday: Split the class into groups of 3-4 students
• Create a Map that depicts the scenes throughout the book-what was happening?
• Tuesday:
• Working in groups: Analyze the different Districts and compare
them to history and places in the world now.
• Wednesday:
• Create a Narrative Paradigm (in groups)
• Thursday:
• Character Analysis: Using specific quotes from the book: Class
Discussion/Blog (Katniss/Peeta) Gender Equality
• Friday:
• “Art Activity” Depict a scene from the book using a visual aid
(construction paper) where are you in this story/relate?
• Theme: Rebellion (one theme) analyze with song
• Blogger
