Matter forms all objects around us and is what materials are made of. Materials can be natural or man-made. Energy produces changes in matter and allows us to do work. There are two types of energy sources: renewable sources like the sun, wind and water that can be used repeatedly, and non-renewable sources like coal, oil and natural gas that cannot be replaced once used up. Light and heat are both forms of energy, with light being perceived through sight and heat transferring from warm objects to cooler ones. Temperature measures how hot or cold an object is.
