2. PREDICTIONS
We can not only use Will and
Going to (+ an infinitive verb) to
make predictions, but also About to,
May and Might.
3. We use WILL to make simple predictions about future
events. A prediction we are certain about.
E.g., I will make more money next year.
(I’m quite sure this will happen)
We use GOING TO to make predictions when there is
present evidence about a future event.
E.g., I’m going to make more money next year.
(I know this will happen because my boss told me)
4. We use ABOUT TO followed by an infinitive when
something is certain to happen immediately.
E.g., I’m about to make more money.
(A new project will give me good benefits)
We use MAY and MIGHT in predictions to talk about
possibility. Something is possible in the future but not
certain.
E.g., I may/might make more money next year.
(It is possible, this could or couldn’t happen)

9. We use the Future Continuous to talk about an action in progress
in the future. It is taking place around certain time in the future.
Its verb form is,
WILL + BE + VERBING
Examples:
This time next December, we’ll be resting at home.
(Para este tiempo el próximo diciembre estaremos descansando
en casa)
At 14:30 on Friday, you will be leaving the school.
(Para las 14:30 del viernes estarás dejando el colegio)

13. We use the Future Perfect to express an action that will
have finished before another action or at a specific time
in the future.
E.g., The dollar will have doubled in cost by the year
2076.
(El dolar habrá duplicado su valor para el año 2076)
WILL + HAVE + PAST PARTICIPLE VERB
14. IN, BY, BEFORE, BY THE TIME and BY THEN are
used to refer to the time in the future when the action
will be completed.
E.g., We will have used this book in 6 years.
The movie will have started before we sit down.
Those girls won’t have won the game by then.
15. How do we use them?
IN is used with a duration of time.
E.g., We will have finished the English tests in
November.
(Habremos terminado las pruebas de inglés en noviembre)
BY / BEFORE are used with a noun.
E.g., You will have traveled abroad by / before
Christmas.
(Habrán viajado al extranjero para / antes de navidad)
16. How do we use them?
BY THE TIME / BEFORE are used with a verb.
E.g., They won’t have discovered the cure of AIDS by
the time / before you finish school.
(No habrán descubierto la cura del SIDA para cuando / antes
de que termines la escuela)
BY THEN is used at the end of the sentence.
E.g., Will you have learnt all about this topic by then?(Habrán
aprendido todo sobre este tema para entonces)
