BTEC Level 3 Creative Media Unit 3: Digital Media Skills May 2020RomillyWalden
The document provides instructions for a set task to create a digital media product for a children's drama serial. Learners must choose one of four briefs to respond to: creating a 1-minute scene for a TV or radio drama serial, designing a website to promote the drama, or producing sample pages for a digital magazine about the drama. The brief describes requirements for the chosen media type, including elements like characters, locations, editing, sound design, graphics, and content. Learners will complete preparatory work and then have 20 hours of supervised time to develop assets and create their final media product responding to the brief.
The document summarizes key findings from Ofcom's 2014 report on children and parents' media use and attitudes. It finds that tablet ownership and use has increased significantly among children of all ages. Children are almost twice as likely to go online using a tablet compared to 2013. However, access to the internet via PC/laptop has declined. Older children spend more time online and prefer mobile phones for social activities. Gender differences are also evident from an early age in media preferences and how parents monitor activities.
The document discusses basic guidelines for character design faces. It notes that most realistic faces are based on ovals and that proportions can be distorted and exaggerated to create memorable designs. Specific tips include making faces rounder to appear more youthful, using more angular faces for men and boys, enlarging eyes to look innocent and young, and using small eyes and large mouths to look more menacing.
Psychological drama is a subgenre of psychological thriller that is highly character-driven with an emphasis on internal or personal conflicts rather than external threats of violence. While psychological dramas may contain some elements of psychological horror, they differ from thrillers in their slower pace and focus on exploring characters, relationships, and emotional dilemmas rather than incorporating life-threatening situations.

Animation done using clay is called Claymation
Mostly it is been done by plasticine
(Plastic clay which does not dry off)
It is the art of making clay figures move, talk, sing, dance or whatever you imagine.
Figures and props are molded from clay and are then used to tell a story. Using stop motion photography or
a series of still pictures taken with a digital camera, the frames are then run together to produce an animation.
14.Pixilation
Pixilation (from pixilated) is a stop motion technique where live actors are used as a frame-by-frame subject in an animated film,
by repeatedly posing while one or more frame is taken and changing pose slightly before the next frame or frames.
The actor becomes a kind of living stop motion puppet. This technique is often used as a way to blend live actors
with animated ones in a film, such as in The Secret Adventures of Tom Thumb by the Bolex Brothers,
which used the technique to compelling and eerie effect.

Progressive Lightmapper: An Introduction to Lightmapping in UnityUnity Technologies
In 2018.1 we removed the preview label from the Progressive Lightmapper – we’ve made memory improvements, optimizations, and have had customers battle test it. We are now also working on a GPU accelerated version of the lightmapper. In this session, Tobias and Kuba will provide an intro to the basics of lightmapping and address of the most common issues that users struggle with and how to solve them. They will also provide an update on the future roadmap for lightmapping in Unity.
Tobias Alexander Franke & Kuba Cupisz (Unity Technologies)
The document summarizes the character animation workflow and pipeline for Uncharted. It discusses:
1) Their initial goals of creating a stable rig and pipeline to prevent issues from past games. This included integrating motion capture into the workflow.
2) Their first pass at a pipeline using 3 skeleton rigs was not ideal. They developed new tools to reference and link character skeletons and manage animation data.
3) Their final pipeline involved rig referencing, linking skeletons, using motion capture and keyframed skeletons, and new animation tools to streamline the workflow and improve performance.
4) It provides examples of their keyframe and motion capture animation workflows, highlighting how they blended the two approaches
The document provides an overview of different types of domestic servants that were commonly employed in households in Japan and other countries, such as maids, cooks, and governesses. It describes the typical roles and responsibilities of these positions. Examples of common maid uniforms are also illustrated, including details of panniers, petticoats, and headwear that were frequently worn as part of maid costumes.
This document provides guidance on drawing manga characters with pencil, including how to do under drawings, draw faces and figures, and create postcard-size illustrations. It discusses starting with rough sketches, building up characters with basic shapes, and maintaining proportions. Tips are also given for drawing different features like eyes, hair and clothing as well as drawing super-deformed characters.
This document provides guidance on drawing manga couples with different height differences. It discusses presenting couples kissing with both small and large height differences, such as the taller character standing on their toes. It also covers differentiating same-sex couples and considering basic male and female body types. Reasons for varying the heights of male and female characters are explored.
The ideation phase for The Last of Us began after Naughty Dog finished Uncharted 3. They considered rebooting an old IP like Jak & Daxter but decided against it to avoid straying too far from the original. They created a new IP set in a post-apocalyptic world focusing on the developing relationship between two people. Concept art, character details, and the overgrown urban setting were developed in pre-production. Actors Tory Baker and Ashley Johnson were cast as Joel and Ellie, and gameplay aimed to develop relationships through a realistic story, though removing threats made it less exciting. Production involved programming, voice acting, animation, and sound design to implement ideas. Post-production

Carrer goals.pptx and their importance in real lifeartemacademy2
Career goals serve as a roadmap for individuals, guiding them toward achieving long-term professional aspirations and personal fulfillment. Establishing clear career goals enables professionals to focus their efforts on developing specific skills, gaining relevant experience, and making strategic decisions that align with their desired career trajectory. By setting both short-term and long-term objectives, individuals can systematically track their progress, make necessary adjustments, and stay motivated. Short-term goals often include acquiring new qualifications, mastering particular competencies, or securing a specific role, while long-term goals might encompass reaching executive positions, becoming industry experts, or launching entrepreneurial ventures.
Moreover, having well-defined career goals fosters a sense of purpose and direction, enhancing job satisfaction and overall productivity. It encourages continuous learning and adaptation, as professionals remain attuned to industry trends and evolving job market demands. Career goals also facilitate better time management and resource allocation, as individuals prioritize tasks and opportunities that advance their professional growth. In addition, articulating career goals can aid in networking and mentorship, as it allows individuals to communicate their aspirations clearly to potential mentors, colleagues, and employers, thereby opening doors to valuable guidance and support. Ultimately, career goals are integral to personal and professional development, driving individuals toward sustained success and fulfillment in their chosen fields.

Suzanne Lagerweij - Influence Without Power - Why Empathy is Your Best Friend...Suzanne Lagerweij
This is a workshop about communication and collaboration. We will experience how we can analyze the reasons for resistance to change (exercise 1) and practice how to improve our conversation style and be more in control and effective in the way we communicate (exercise 2).
This session will use Dave Gray’s Empathy Mapping, Argyris’ Ladder of Inference and The Four Rs from Agile Conversations (Squirrel and Fredrick).
Abstract:
Let’s talk about powerful conversations! We all know how to lead a constructive conversation, right? Then why is it so difficult to have those conversations with people at work, especially those in powerful positions that show resistance to change?
Learning to control and direct conversations takes understanding and practice.
We can combine our innate empathy with our analytical skills to gain a deeper understanding of complex situations at work. Join this session to learn how to prepare for difficult conversations and how to improve our agile conversations in order to be more influential without power. We will use Dave Gray’s Empathy Mapping, Argyris’ Ladder of Inference and The Four Rs from Agile Conversations (Squirrel and Fredrick).
In the session you will experience how preparing and reflecting on your conversation can help you be more influential at work. You will learn how to communicate more effectively with the people needed to achieve positive change. You will leave with a self-revised version of a difficult conversation and a practical model to use when you get back to work.
Come learn more on how to become a real influencer!

Why Psychological Safety Matters for Software Teams - ACE 2024 - Ben Linders.pdfBen Linders
Psychological safety in teams is important; team members must feel safe and able to communicate and collaborate effectively to deliver value. It’s also necessary to build long-lasting teams since things will happen and relationships will be strained.
But, how safe is a team? How can we determine if there are any factors that make the team unsafe or have an impact on the team’s culture?
In this mini-workshop, we’ll play games for psychological safety and team culture utilizing a deck of coaching cards, The Psychological Safety Cards. We will learn how to use gamification to gain a better understanding of what’s going on in teams. Individuals share what they have learned from working in teams, what has impacted the team’s safety and culture, and what has led to positive change.
Different game formats will be played in groups in parallel. Examples are an ice-breaker to get people talking about psychological safety, a constellation where people take positions about aspects of psychological safety in their team or organization, and collaborative card games where people work together to create an environment that fosters psychological safety.
