• It is a group of people who have in common:
- A place
- History
- Culture
- Economy, etc.
Examples of societies: A country( Spain)

• People from the same culture have in common:
beliefs, language, history, religion, food, clothes,
lifestyle, etc.
• There are different cultures around the world:

• 2 types:
• Inmigration: the process of moving to a new
country. People who move to a new country
are called immigrants.
• Emigration: The process of moving from your
native country to another.

Looking for better oppotunities( jobs,education)
Escaping from problems( wars...)

• DEFINITION: Treating a person or a group of people unfairly
because of things like their race, sex, religion, age.
 Racism: discrimination against people of a different race.
 Xenophobia: dislike or hate of people from other
countries.
 Homophobia: fear or dislike against homosexuals
 Feminism: the belief that women and men have equal rights.
 Machismo: male superiority.
