middle way life too.
• UNICEF was created with this purpose in mind
to work with others to overcome the obstacles

discrimination place in a child’s path. We
believe that we can, together, advance the
cause of humanity.

UNICEF appeals for nearly $1.3 billion to assist
children in 2012
27 January 2012 , the crisis in the Horn of Africa.
• Bangkok – 14 February 2013 – The United Nations
Children’s Fund (UNICEF) this week began delivering
footballs and other play and recreation supplies to eight
Ministry of Social Development and Human Security
(MSDHS) shelters caring for Rohingya children in southern
Thailand.
• 270 Rohingya children, many of whom have been separated
from their fathers or who came to Thailand . more than
1,400 Rohingya men are in government immigration
detention facilities.

UNICEF predicts that childhood Polio has
been completely eradicated by the year 2005.

  4. The United Nations International Children's Emergency Fund (UNICEF) is one of the world's best-known organizations devoted to the health and welfare of children. UNICEF is headquartered in New York, and works with children in 158 countries.
  5. Ludwik J. Rajchman (November 1, 1881, Warsaw - 1965, Chenu, Sarthe) was a Polish bacteriologist. He was one of the founders of UNICEF, and served as its first Chairman from 1946 to 1950.In 1929 and 1930-1931, he served as a medical adviser to Chiang Kai-shek and Song Ziwen. In 1931-1939, he was an expert of China's National Economic Council, which had been set up with the aid of the League of Nations to promote development. In 1940-1943, he was Song Ziwen's adviser as a special representative of China to the United States

  7. 27 January 2012 – The United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) appealed today for $1.28 billion to provide humanitarian assistance to children in over 25 countries this year, with nearly one-third of the total amount earmarked for the crisis in the Horn of Africa.
  8. On 7 September 2006, an agreement between UNICEF and the Spanish Catalan association football club FC Barcelona was reached whereby the club would donate 1.5 million euros per year to the organization for five years. UNICEF is an intergovernmental organization (IGO) and thus is accountable to those governments. UNICEF’s salary and benefits package is based on the United Nations Common System.
