The document discusses global data protection laws and how they apply to cloud computing. It provides an overview of data protection laws in over 80 countries and regions. It also discusses how traditional models of data sovereignty based on physical location no longer apply in cloud computing where data may be stored and processed in multiple locations. The document recommends that organizations focus on protecting data, such as through encryption, rather than just infrastructure when using cloud services in order to meet global compliance requirements.

Office 365 and other SaaS apps offer a number of advantages over premises-based apps, from easy access and deployment to lower costs. A key advantage of SaaS apps is IT's ability to shift the burden for app and infrastructure security to the cloud vendor while data security remains the responsibility of the enterprise. Migrating to Office 365 introduces several new avenues for data leakage: one-click sharing, desktop sync clients, unmanaged device access, and many more.
Bitglass and (ISC)2 presents Episode 2 of our CASB Wars webinar trilogy where we explore the security gaps in Office 365 and how a Cloud Access Security Broker (CASB) can help mitigate the threat of data leakage across all SaaS apps. Using real-world use cases, see where native Office 365 security falls short and how a CASB can protect data end-to-end, from cloud to device.
IRDAI has prescribed an additional framework for the protection of policyholder information and data, which is required to be followed in addition to the general framework under the IT Act. The Briefing Room with Dr. Robin Bloor and HPE Security
There's no such thing as bad publicity? In the era of data breaches, that's not really true. Time and again in recent years, the mighty have fallen. And as sensitive data reaches the hands of bad guys the world over, so go the fates of customers and companies alike. That's why security is the fastest growing sector of enterprise IT today, with privacy issues front and center.
Register for this episode of The Briefing Room to hear veteran Analyst Dr. Robin Bloor explain why companies need to pay serious attention to the ever-growing importance of privacy, not just security. He'll be briefed by Jay Irwin of Teradata and Carole Murphy of HPE Security, who will demonstrate how their technologies can be combined to create a robust privacy infrastructure that allows organizations to avoid data breaches, or at least keep the data encrypted, thus avoiding the damage of a breach.

Improve IT Security and Compliance with Mainframe Data in SplunkPrecisely
Avoid security blind spots with an enterprise-wide view.
If your organization relies on Splunk as its security nerve center, you can’t afford to leave out your mainframes.
They work with the rest of your IT infrastructure to support critical business applications–and they need to be
viewed in that wider context to address potential security blind spots.
Although the importance of including mainframe data in Splunk is undeniable, many organizations have left it out
because Splunk doesn’t natively support IBM Z® environments. Learn how Precisely Ironstream can help with a
straight-forward, powerful approach for integrating your mainframe security data into Splunk, and making it actionable

Epistemic Interaction - tuning interfaces to provide information for AI supportAlan Dix
Paper presented at SYNERGY workshop at AVI 2024, Genoa, Italy. 3rd June 2024
https://alandix.com/academic/papers/synergy2024-epistemic/
As machine learning integrates deeper into human-computer interactions, the concept of epistemic interaction emerges, aiming to refine these interactions to enhance system adaptability. This approach encourages minor, intentional adjustments in user behaviour to enrich the data available for system learning. This paper introduces epistemic interaction within the context of human-system communication, illustrating how deliberate interaction design can improve system understanding and adaptation. Through concrete examples, we demonstrate the potential of epistemic interaction to significantly advance human-computer interaction by leveraging intuitive human communication strategies to inform system design and functionality, offering a novel pathway for enriching user-system engagements.
