Cancellation of skin contraction during wound healing can be achieved through collagen scaffolds that have the appropriate pore size, degradation rate, and surface chemistry to promote regeneration instead of scarring. Understanding the role of myofibroblasts involved in contraction is also important to reducing scarring.

Biocompatibility
Biocompatibility refers to the ability of a material to perform its intended function with an appropriate host response in a specific application. It is not a single event but rather involves different interdependent mechanisms of interaction between the material and tissue. Additionally, biocompatibility implies that a material performs its function depending on its intrinsic properties and interaction with tissues, and results in an appropriate host response rather than no response at all. The degree of biocompatibility depends on both the material and tissue used in a specific application.
Enteric nerve regeneration for Hirchsprung disease
Hirchsprung's disease is a congenital disorder where ganglion cells are absent from the colon, causing constipation. Current treatments involve removing the affected part of the intestine. Tissue engineering may provide an alternative approach by using biomaterials and cell transplantation to regenerate the enteric nervous system. However, there are risks that the regenerated tissue may not function properly, as the process of generating fully functional nervous tissue from stem cells remains a significant challenge.

NATURE BASED SOLUTIONS FOR CLIMATE CHANGE AND WATER CHALLENGES
This presentation has been prepared as part of an effort by IIUM, UTM and MIT (D lab) in Nature based Solutions (NbS) and plan for future work to advance this concept and support effective implementation of NbS to enhance ecosystem services provision and address societal challenges such as displacement, gentrification, inequality, access to clean safe water and food justice.
Biocompatibility
Biocompatibility refers to the ability of a material to perform its intended function with an appropriate host response in a specific application. It is not a single event but rather involves different interdependent mechanisms of interaction between the material and tissue. Additionally, biocompatibility implies that a material performs its function depending on its intrinsic properties and interaction with tissues, and results in an appropriate host response rather than no response at all. The degree of biocompatibility depends on both the material and tissue used in a specific application.
Enteric nerve regeneration for Hirchsprung disease
Hirchsprung's disease is a congenital disorder where ganglion cells are absent from the colon, causing constipation. Current treatments involve removing the affected part of the intestine. Tissue engineering may provide an alternative approach by using biomaterials and cell transplantation to regenerate the enteric nervous system. However, there are risks that the regenerated tissue may not function properly, as the process of generating fully functional nervous tissue from stem cells remains a significant challenge.
HOLISTIC APPROACH FOR SUSTAINABLE WATER MANAGEMENT IN MALAYSIA
The moral argument and ethical challenges and framework for sustainability through holistic water management in Malaysia. Should we confine to standard approach that only measures cost benefit analysis of social policies to serve the majority of the public and deprive basic rights (water, food, air and life) of the indigenous and rural communities.This lecture combines technical approaches in sustainable water management and philosophical views - to address problems and challenges in climate change and global warming.

Intestinal regeneration biology approach
This document discusses intestinal regeneration biology and approaches. It covers:
1. The tissue layers of the gastrointestinal tract and intestinal development from birth to adulthood.
2. Sources of smooth muscle and neuronal stem cells including bone marrow, muscle tissue, and enteric nervous system.

Nervous system injury and regeneration
This document discusses nervous system injury and regeneration strategies. It describes how the nervous system is divided into the central and peripheral systems. Injury can occur via different factors and disrupts communication between neurons. In the central nervous system, axons do not regenerate naturally due to inhibitors at injury sites. Tissue engineering strategies aim to use guidance channels, cell recovery, drug delivery, and electrical stimulation to promote regeneration, especially by transforming glial cells into neurons using genetic modification in mice models. Advances in developmental biology and tissue engineering principles can mimic cues to direct neural tissue regeneration.
Low Impact Development
Low impact development (LID) designs aim to reduce the environmental impact of urban planning by trapping stormwater runoff from impervious surfaces. Examples of LID designs in cities include improvements to parking lots in Seattle to trap runoff and urban planning in Idaho and Oregon. Other cities can learn from LID designs used in various US cities to address climate impacts through urban planning.
Animal cell culture and methodologies
Mammalian cell culture was first developed in the early 20th century and has since enabled significant advances in research areas like drug development. Proper aseptic technique and regular maintenance are required to prevent contamination and allow cells to grow healthily. Contamination can occur chemically from unwanted substances or microbially from bacteria, fungi, viruses, and mycoplasma. Strict adherence to safety policies and prevention of cross-contamination between cell lines are important to ensure sterile conditions and validate experimental results.
Literature review - Research Methodology

The proper function of the integrated circuit (IC) in an inhibiting electromagnetic environment has always been a serious concern throughout the decades of revolution in the world of electronics, from disjunct devices to today’s integrated circuit technology, where billions of transistors are combined on a single chip. The automotive industry and smart vehicles in particular, are confronting design issues such as being prone to electromagnetic interference (EMI). Electronic control devices calculate incorrect outputs because of EMI and sensors give misleading values which can prove fatal in case of automotives. In this paper, the authors have non exhaustively tried to review research work concerned with the investigation of EMI in ICs and prediction of this EMI using various modelling methodologies and measurement setups.

Embedded machine learning-based road conditions and driving behavior monitoring
Car accident rates have increased in recent years, resulting in losses in human lives, properties, and other financial costs. An embedded machine learning-based system is developed to address this critical issue. The system can monitor road conditions, detect driving patterns, and identify aggressive driving behaviors. The system is based on neural networks trained on a comprehensive dataset of driving events, driving styles, and road conditions. The system effectively detects potential risks and helps mitigate the frequency and impact of accidents. The primary goal is to ensure the safety of drivers and vehicles. Collecting data involved gathering information on three key road events: normal street and normal drive, speed bumps, circular yellow speed bumps, and three aggressive driving actions: sudden start, sudden stop, and sudden entry. The gathered data is processed and analyzed using a machine learning system designed for limited power and memory devices. The developed system resulted in 91.9% accuracy, 93.6% precision, and 92% recall. The achieved inference time on an Arduino Nano 33 BLE Sense with a 32-bit CPU running at 64 MHz is 34 ms and requires 2.6 kB peak RAM and 139.9 kB program flash memory, making it suitable for resource-constrained embedded systems.

reserves and the ancient silk trade route, along with China's diplomatic endeavours in the area, has been
referred to as the "New Great Game." This research centres on the power struggle, considering
geopolitical, geostrategic, and geoeconomic variables. Topics including trade, political hegemony, oil
politics, and conventional and nontraditional security are all explored and explained by the researcher.
Using Mackinder's Heartland, Spykman Rimland, and Hegemonic Stability theories, examines China's role
in Central Asia. This study adheres to the empirical epistemological method and has taken care of
objectivity. This study analyze primary and secondary research documents critically to elaborate role of
china’s geo economic outreach in central Asian countries and its future prospect. China is thriving in trade,
pipeline politics, and winning states, according to this study, thanks to important instruments like the
Shanghai Cooperation Organisation and the Belt and Road Economic Initiative. According to this study,
China is seeing significant success in commerce, pipeline politics, and gaining influence on other

Medical image analysis has witnessed significant advancements with deep learning techniques. In the domain of brain tumor segmentation, the ability to
precisely delineate tumor boundaries from magnetic resonance imaging (MRI)
scans holds profound implications for diagnosis. This study presents an ensemble convolutional neural network (CNN) with transfer learning, integrating
the state-of-the-art Deeplabv3+ architecture with the ResNet18 backbone. The
model is rigorously trained and evaluated, exhibiting remarkable performance
metrics, including an impressive global accuracy of 99.286%, a high-class accuracy of 82.191%, a mean intersection over union (IoU) of 79.900%, a weighted
IoU of 98.620%, and a Boundary F1 (BF) score of 83.303%. Notably, a detailed comparative analysis with existing methods showcases the superiority of
our proposed model. These findings underscore the model’s competence in precise brain tumor localization, underscoring its potential to revolutionize medical
image analysis and enhance healthcare outcomes. This research paves the way
for future exploration and optimization of advanced CNN models in medical
imaging, emphasizing addressing false positives and resource efficiency.
