The UMIT project provides a graphical frontend called UMIT that allows users to easily run Nmap scans. UMIT includes features like a radial mapper, network inventory, scan scheduling, profiles, and a wizard. It has interfaces for GTK and the web. The project participated in Google Summer of Code 2008 to add new capabilities. Developers held a sprint in July 2008 to work on protocols for the UMIT Packet Manipulator (UMPA) tool, a Python wrapper for Nmap, hunting bugs, and new plugins.
