What Is Complex Sentence?
• A sentence with both a main clause and a
dependent clause
• Includes at least one main (independent)
clause
• Connecting word
• The information is usually placed within the
main clause
• The main clause is the focus of most complex
sentences (“main” idea)

Example:
 The girl whose jacket is pink is my classmate.
 The man whom she met yesterday is her lecturer.
