Words that describe a verb (an action), for example, the
boy ate his dinner quickly.
Ate is the verb as this is the action and quickly is the
adverb as this describes how the action is being done.

An adverbial is a word or phrase that has been used like
an adverb to add detail or further information to a
verb.
Adverbials are used to explain how, where, when, how
long, which way and why something happened; they are
like adverbs made up of more than one word.
For example, later that day, the parcel arrived.
Later that day is the adverbial as it is explaining when
in the day the parcel arrived. It is also called a fronted
