Editor's Notes
We shall not cease from exploration And the end of all our exploring Will be to arrive where we started And know the place for the first time.
When children represent their experiences in their paintings they continue to use simple basic shapes that they have learned in their designing stage and early representations, and they put them together to make people, houses, animals, vehicles and various plants. They often include many aspects of an experience and sometimes suggest the environment or location of the event. While they have not developed a sense of depth or space, objects that rest on the earth can be located along the baseline, and the sky and sun can be located on the top. Color is chosen from their feelings and emotions, while some symbols, like the sun, are naturalistic.
What could this piece of fabric be in your painting?
No people, or buildings etc. Shapes mixed colors and lines. Some have straight lines. Some repeat shapes
