300 students in the two master’s degrees
and over 100 students completed the
degree requirements in a single year.
Thanks to everyone for choosing
UCM as this helps make our programs
among the best in the United States for Industrial Management
andTechnology. Our faculty continues to grow and serve as
faculty advisers and mentors.Their involvement with professional
organizations and industry along with the dedication to teaching are
what makes our programs great.
As educational trends and demands change, we are seeing
greater need for graduate level education. The Graduate Certificate
programs in Lean 6-Sigma and Network Security continue to grow
in popularity. Our proposal is to ramp up a new Operations and
Project Management Certificate next year. The School ofTechnology
continues to support a controlled growth and looks forward to
always providing a personal education in both the face-to-face
delivery methods and our online programs and courses.
My goal for the graduate programs is continued strengthening
of the faculty, programs, and curriculum. The PhD inTechnology

My name is Maroua Regragui and I am
twenty three years old. I am an international
student from Morocco. I have attending the
University of Central Missouri (UCM) for the past five years
and a half, and this was also the place where I started learning
English in the Intensive English Program (IEP).Then I completed
my undergraduate program from UCM less than a year ago from
the Industrial Engineering program. Currently, I am working on
completing my second semester in the Masters of Science program
in Industrial Management. Completing this program will also get
me a certification in the implementation of Lean Six Sigma. I also
work as a graduate assistant at the UCM School ofTechnology.
This is a great opportunity to assist in classes, help professors and
teach classes which gives me not only the experience, but also the
chance to understand my studies in a deeper level. As a woman in
the technology field, I feel like I need to work harder to show my
skills and competences. My program and my work help me every
day develop those competencies and become more confident in my
abilities.Technological advancement is fascinating, and it is taking
over everything everywhere, so what a better way to live in this era
than to understand what we are living in.

My name is Blaine McKeehan and I
am currently enrolled in my last semester of
Graduate School. I am currently 25 years old
and originally from the small nearby farming town of Knob Noster,
MO. I am a member of the 442nd FighterWing located atWhitman
Air Force Base, Missouri. Along with being a full-time college
student the past five years, I have also been an IntelligenceAnalyst
in the United StatesAir Force Reserves for over seven years. I am
currently aTechnical Sergeant/E-6 and the supervisor of five other
individuals. I deployed toAfghanistan back in 2012 and have been on
other multiple short assignments since then.TheAir Force has and
continues to be a very rewarding and valuable experience.
UCM is a very military friendly, they provide a Military
Tuition Package which waives all mandatory fees and pays for your
parking permit, and offers the Missouri Returning Hero’sAct which
lowers all undergraduate credit hours to $50 per hour. UCM has and
continues to be a great institution to work with, I would recommend
it to any military member contemplating attending here.
Being a military member to me didn’t present any unique
challenges as opposed to being a traditional student. However,
occasionally I would have to miss class due to some required training
or business that required my attention. In those cases, the faculty and
professors were very understanding and accommodating ensuring it
didn’t negatively affect my grades or attendance.
One of the things that really impressed me about the
program is the large amount of real world experience that the
faculty/professors brought to the classroom. All in all, the program
was very beneficial and directly related to my career plan (s) of
choice, I am without a doubt that the program will benefit me by
making me both more valuable and competitive. I would recommend
the MSIM as high quality and challenging program to anyone looking
to gain or expand their knowledge in this subject area.

I had over four years of professional work
experience in design and manufacturing before
starting the Masters program at UCM. I began
my professional career with SSD Engineering Industries (India) as a
Production Engineer. For the two years that I served there I was closely
involved with the manufacturing of gas and steam turbine blades.
I am a Certified SolidWorks Professional (CSWP) from
Dassault Systèmes, which enabled me to work for A-Projects Limited
as a Design Engineer with an emphasis in design and analysis. While
there, I interacted with clients to learn about their requirements and
how to improve their products and designs.
There is huge potential and growth opportunities in Industrial
Management. Opportunities range from small manufacturing
companies to big automotive companies. You can find good possibilities
based on your previous work experience and the major you choose.
With my background in Design and Manufacturing and my courses in
Industrial design, Robotics and Automation, I was able to consider a
wide range of industries for career opportunities. Given their strong
practical and management skills, IM program graduates are well-
equipped for the large variety of careers available across production.
Haneesh Vulavala
The career path that I chose after graduation was in the
field of quality and continuous improvement. My passion and
focus is on problem solving and teaching those skillsets. I have
served in positions of increasing responsibility in the automotive
and commercial vehicle industry as a quality technician, internal
auditor, quality engineer and senior quality engineer. I have traveled
internationally to over nine different countries to qualify and approve
manufacturing processes. Currently, I am employed at John Deere
Reman in Springfield Missouri as a senior quality engineer. In this
position I am responsible for supplier quality performance and
product quality for products sold globally.
The Industrial Management program at the University
of Central Missouri combines the technical aspects of industry
with business concepts producing an essential skillset when
communicating to the c – level audience. I have had the opportunity
to be involved in many global projects and find the student diversity
as an opportunity to understand group dynamics and collaborative
scenarios that resemble those I have experienced in an industrial
setting. Global economics has the potential to negatively affect
manufacturing output. However, a study of Industrial Management
practices will remain strong as organizations seek solutions to be
efficient and profitable in the marketplace.

I received a BSEET in Electronics after high school and have
used my degree in a variety of disciplines and industries. I have been
fortunate to have experiences in engineering, quality, manufacturing,
sales, customer service, IT and operations departments and have
worked as a technician, engineer, production supervisor and manager.
The industries with which I have been involved range from consumer
video to industrial safety, police-fire-ambulance communications,
railroads safety and petroleum tanker truck safety equipment.
Beyond technical aspects, I enjoyed my time as a manager
of engineers and technicians and this time has been some of the most
fulfilling in my career.Although simultaneously challenging and
rewarding, holding a leadership position in a company is an important
key factor in achieving department and corporate goals. Success is
ultimately determined by how we work with others.
Companies will always need leaders to achieve their corporate
goals and a person having good technical management skills is in
demand.  As a technical manager for years, I wanted to supplement my
experiences with disciplines and best practices so returned to UCM
for the IM program.   The MSIM program gives the graduate a well-
rounded education whether one is new to their career or has been in
industry for a period of time.

I graduated from UCM in 2013 with a BS in
Photography. During my masters I worked for the School of
Technology as a GA in the Graphic ArtsTechnology Department
(1 semester) and spent a year and a half working in the SOT
internship program. Before getting hired full time as Production
Castings’ Documentation Coordinator, I was brought on as an
intern (ISOAssistant). I was hired full time August 2015.
I have a different perspective on this question than
someone else would. I went straight from my undergrad to
masters. For me the program was perfect. It introduced me to all
the basics of quality and management. I think the degree would
do a great job for someone wanting to get their masters while
in the work force too.The nature of the program is vigorous but
completely manageable. I also think there are many opportunities
in Industrial Management. I took the ISO/auditing route. But
there are many chances for employment in quality, design/
CADD, and even plant management. The INDM program
prepares workers and doers!

5 My nameis Maroua Regragui and I am twenty three years old. I am an international student from Morocco. I have attending the University of Central Missouri (UCM) for the past five years and a half, and this was also the place where I started learning English in the Intensive English Program (IEP).Then I completed my undergraduate program from UCM less than a year ago from the Industrial Engineering program. Currently, I am working on completing my second semester in the Masters of Science program in Industrial Management. Completing this program will also get me a certification in the implementation of Lean Six Sigma. I also work as a graduate assistant at the UCM School ofTechnology. This is a great opportunity to assist in classes, help professors and teach classes which gives me not only the experience, but also the chance to understand my studies in a deeper level. As a woman in the technology field, I feel like I need to work harder to show my skills and competences. My program and my work help me every day develop those competencies and become more confident in my abilities.Technological advancement is fascinating, and it is taking over everything everywhere, so what a better way to live in this era than to understand what we are living in. Maroua Regragui B.S. EngineeringTechnology Pursuing M.S. Industrial Management Current Student Military Student My name is Blaine McKeehan and I am currently enrolled in my last semester of Graduate School. I am currently 25 years old and originally from the small nearby farming town of Knob Noster, MO. I am a member of the 442nd FighterWing located atWhitman Air Force Base, Missouri. Along with being a full-time college student the past five years, I have also been an IntelligenceAnalyst in the United StatesAir Force Reserves for over seven years. I am currently aTechnical Sergeant/E-6 and the supervisor of five other individuals. I deployed toAfghanistan back in 2012 and have been on other multiple short assignments since then.TheAir Force has and continues to be a very rewarding and valuable experience. UCM is a very military friendly, they provide a Military Tuition Package which waives all mandatory fees and pays for your parking permit, and offers the Missouri Returning Hero’sAct which lowers all undergraduate credit hours to $50 per hour. UCM has and continues to be a great institution to work with, I would recommend it to any military member contemplating attending here. Being a military member to me didn’t present any unique challenges as opposed to being a traditional student. However, occasionally I would have to miss class due to some required training or business that required my attention. In those cases, the faculty and professors were very understanding and accommodating ensuring it didn’t negatively affect my grades or attendance. One of the things that really impressed me about the program is the large amount of real world experience that the faculty/professors brought to the classroom. All in all, the program was very beneficial and directly related to my career plan (s) of choice, I am without a doubt that the program will benefit me by making me both more valuable and competitive. I would recommend the MSIM as high quality and challenging program to anyone looking to gain or expand their knowledge in this subject area. 6 SOT Grad Newsletter Spring2017 I had over four years of professional work experience in design and manufacturing before starting the Masters program at UCM. I began my professional career with SSD Engineering Industries (India) as a Production Engineer. For the two years that I served there I was closely involved with the manufacturing of gas and steam turbine blades. I am a Certified SolidWorks Professional (CSWP) from Dassault Systèmes, which enabled me to work for A-Projects Limited as a Design Engineer with an emphasis in design and analysis. While there, I interacted with clients to learn about their requirements and how to improve their products and designs. There is huge potential and growth opportunities in Industrial Management. Opportunities range from small manufacturing companies to big automotive companies. You can find good possibilities based on your previous work experience and the major you choose. With my background in Design and Manufacturing and my courses in Industrial design, Robotics and Automation, I was able to consider a wide range of industries for career opportunities. Given their strong practical and management skills, IM program graduates are well- equipped for the large variety of careers available across production. Haneesh Vulavala The career path that I chose after graduation was in the field of quality and continuous improvement. My passion and focus is on problem solving and teaching those skillsets. I have served in positions of increasing responsibility in the automotive and commercial vehicle industry as a quality technician, internal auditor, quality engineer and senior quality engineer. I have traveled internationally to over nine different countries to qualify and approve manufacturing processes. Currently, I am employed at John Deere Reman in Springfield Missouri as a senior quality engineer. In this position I am responsible for supplier quality performance and product quality for products sold globally. The Industrial Management program at the University of Central Missouri combines the technical aspects of industry with business concepts producing an essential skillset when communicating to the c – level audience. I have had the opportunity to be involved in many global projects and find the student diversity as an opportunity to understand group dynamics and collaborative scenarios that resemble those I have experienced in an industrial setting. Global economics has the potential to negatively affect manufacturing output. However, a study of Industrial Management practices will remain strong as organizations seek solutions to be efficient and profitable in the marketplace. Alumni Feedback Billy Davidson Spring 2015 graduate in Industrial Management (IM) Senior Quality Engineer at John Deere Reman Spring 2015 graduate in MST Technical Consultant and Associate Product Manager at Results.com Jeff Hunter Fall 2014 graduate in Industrial Management (IM) BusinessAnalysts at Fike I received a BSEET in Electronics after high school and have used my degree in a variety of disciplines and industries. I have been fortunate to have experiences in engineering, quality, manufacturing, sales, customer service, IT and operations departments and have worked as a technician, engineer, production supervisor and manager. The industries with which I have been involved range from consumer video to industrial safety, police-fire-ambulance communications, railroads safety and petroleum tanker truck safety equipment. Beyond technical aspects, I enjoyed my time as a manager of engineers and technicians and this time has been some of the most fulfilling in my career.Although simultaneously challenging and rewarding, holding a leadership position in a company is an important key factor in achieving department and corporate goals. Success is ultimately determined by how we work with others. Companies will always need leaders to achieve their corporate goals and a person having good technical management skills is in demand.  As a technical manager for years, I wanted to supplement my experiences with disciplines and best practices so returned to UCM for the IM program.   The MSIM program gives the graduate a well- rounded education whether one is new to their career or has been in industry for a period of time. Giuseppina (Josie) Zanti Spring 2015 graduate in Industrial Management (IM) Documentation Coordinator and Lead Auditor at Production Castings, Inc I graduated from UCM in 2013 with a BS in Photography. During my masters I worked for the School of Technology as a GA in the Graphic ArtsTechnology Department (1 semester) and spent a year and a half working in the SOT internship program. Before getting hired full time as Production Castings’ Documentation Coordinator, I was brought on as an intern (ISOAssistant). I was hired full time August 2015. I have a different perspective on this question than someone else would. I went straight from my undergrad to masters. For me the program was perfect. It introduced me to all the basics of quality and management. I think the degree would do a great job for someone wanting to get their masters while in the work force too.The nature of the program is vigorous but completely manageable. I also think there are many opportunities in Industrial Management. I took the ISO/auditing route. But there are many chances for employment in quality, design/ CADD, and even plant management. The INDM program prepares workers and doers!
