Google tasked UCLA researchers with recommending ways to use technology to combat human trafficking. The researchers explored domestic minor sex and labor trafficking in high-intensity areas across the US. They collected new data on gaps and needs from multiple sectors. Their recommendations include using technology to create a national database for law enforcement and victims, an emergency help line, and a real-time database of available services for service providers. Challenges to address include financial concerns, policies, confidentiality, safety, access, hacking and maintenance.
