Support in the notes section at the bottom of each slide
Personal Statement
11. Academic
History
• In secondary school I studied
creative media which lead me to
take media at college as I really
enjoyed the subject and also would
like a job in that industry for the
future. I made advertisements,
photoshoped images, and wrote
documents about my understanding
of certain skills used in media. I
wanted to progress and learn more
as I am very interested in filming
videos, photography and also
editing and using different
techniques on different pieces of
work.
12. Current
Study
• The course I am currently taking has
helped me prepare for the course I
would like to go into at university as It
has showed me which part of media I
enjoy the most and what I would like
to go into at higher education and as a
career. So far I have made a music
video, audio project, advertisement
work, animation and for my FMP I
made a horror movie trailer. I have
learnt skills such as how to merge
multiple pieces of footage and images
together, and also how to make things
such as sunsets In photoshop to add
to images. This makes me want to
study further as I like the technology
used for filming and photography and
the skills you can use on PremierPro
and photoshop to edit these to make
them look pristine and professional.
13. The Future
• In the future I would like to either
become a videographer for events,
work in the film or television
industry (including broadcasting) or
a photographer. University will be
able to help me do this as it will give
me the experience to see what it is
like to work for a company such as
ITV or BBC and I will show me
further skills, techniques and
equipment that I would use later on
in life for the job I go into.
14. Outside
College
• Outside of college I have a part time
job at a local bakery in my town,
and I am also apart of a charity that
helps underprivileged children to do
something fun during the summer,
we hold a summer camp for a week
for free where we do walks,
swimming, activities, etc. I am a
junior team leader which means I
am in charge of my group and I take
care of them all. This makes me a
better candidate for university as it
shows that I can be a good
influence, help others out and also
take charge when needed to, for
example: group work.
15. Conclusion
• I want to go to university as it will
give me a higher education to the
career I would like to go into In the
future, it will show me life
techniques for the career I want. It
will help me achieve the skills I need
for this career and it will help me be
prepared for what I need when it
comes to me getting a job in the
industry.
16. Introduction
• I am applying for filmmaking,
television production, broadcast
media technology and film
production and professional
practice. I want to do these as they
are all based around the career that
I would like to go into and some of
them give me an experience to work
with certain companies that are in
the industry that I would like to go
into.
18. Which
projects
have you
enjoyed
most this
year &
why?
• The project I have enjoyed the most
this year was creating a music video,
I enjoyed this project the most as I
found it the most creative and
hands on and as I also really enjoy
filming that made the project a
bonus, I also enjoyed it as I was able
to put all of my ideas into it and
choose the music which made me
enjoy it more.
19. Which
projects
have you
least
enjoyed [&
why]?
• The project that I have enjoyed the
least was the audio project. I
enjoyed this project the least as I
don’t like recording audio, I didn’t
like the theme of recording a scary
story, I enjoyed editing the work but
I didn’t like the other aspects of the
project.
20. What is you
biggest
success
• My biggest success has been
learning new skills when it comes to
editing images and footage for all of
my products, I also think my biggest
success was completing all of my
coursework on time and also being
able to create an animation in a
short amount of time.
21. What has
been your
biggest
mistake in
coursework
• My biggest mistake in my
coursework was not writing enough
on some of my pieces of work and
also how I handled my time with all
of my projects as it left me to be
stressed out and also not producing
my best pieces of work on all of my
projects.
22. Which skills
do you
think you
have
develop
most?
• The skills I have developed he most
is being able to use equipment such
as cameras, photoshop, PremierPro
and also audio recording
equipment.
23. What area
are aiming
to
specialise in
during Year
2?
• In year 2 I am aiming to specialise in
filming and photography and in my
final FMP to incorporate both into
my work like I did for my year 1
FMP.
