BANQUET.
• A sumptuous feast. Especially : an elaborate and often ceremonious meal for numerous people often in
honor of a person. A state banquet. : a meal held in recognition of some occasion or achievement. An
awards banquet.
• BUFFET.
• Buffet restaurants normally offer all-you-can-eat food for a set price, but some measure prices by
weight or by number of dishes. Buffets usually have some or mostly hot dishes, so the term cold buffet
(see Smörgåsbord) has been developed to describe formats lacking hot food.
• COFEE HOUSES.
• The name “coffeehouse” is derived from the limited menu which is typically available at the social
event: coffee is usually the featured beverage, together with other non-alcoholic beverages such as
soda, juice and tea. Desserts and snack foods may round out the menu.

• A cycle menu is a series of menus that is repeated over a specific period of time, such as 4 weeks. The
menu is different each day during the cycle. And, At the end of the cycle, the menu is repeated. Cycle
menus save time and allow menu planners to offer a variety of menu selections.
