This document summarizes research conducted on installing televisions in the university wellness center. The researchers interviewed wellness center members and staff, surveyed members about entertainment preferences during workouts, and researched the benefits of exercising while watching TV. Most survey respondents were students who preferred working out with stimulation like TV. While televisions would incur costs, over half of current members wanted to watch TV during workouts rather than staying home on the couch. The researchers concluded that televisions in the wellness center could enhance members' workouts and performance by allowing them to multitask with a favorite show while exercising.
