1. Who do you think your target audience might be and how did
you attract them? (ABC1, demographics, psychographics, ad
techniques)
The target audience for our TV advert is people in the BC1 and
C2 group. We are aiming it at male and females, around the age
of 21-40, who love a good cuppa to finish a hard days work.
Also aim at people that use social network sites because they
are more likely to talk to their friends about the coffee.
2. What social groups are you representing and how did you
represent them in a positive light? (mise-en-scene, stereotypes,
dialogue, sound, narrative)
We tried to go against stereotypes of that women drink coffee
more than men, as most coffee adverts the protagonist is a
women, where as ours is a man.
3. What did you learn about technology during this production?
(Photoshop, Vegas, shooting, organising) This was the first

attract the target audience as it will catch their attention.

This was the first time I’d used Sony Vegas properly, so I learnt most of the basic techniques to editing a video, such as,
how to use the trimmer, how to slow down and speed up clips, how to make sounds, louder and quieter. Also I learnt how to
create a pack shot on Photoshop, and how to put it into Photoshop and have it as a scene in my advert.
When shooting a learnt that you shouldn’t cross the line, this is when you are shooting an OS shot, you cant swap to the
other side of people or it will look strange if someone's face suddenly changes size. I also learnt about high key and low key
lighting.

lighting. That high key is high contrast and low key is for dark scenes.
I also learnt how to write a script properly, like things such as you shouldn’t include camera shots in your script, new
characters in capitals and a short description of characters, names should be in centre of the page, speech is under their
names and sounds in capitals.
The type of institutions that would broadcast this product is on websites, so in the corner of a website there would be the
advert playing on a loop. Also it would be broadcasted in-between TV programmed on channels such as ITV, Channel 4 &
5.
I have enjoyed the practical side of Media as I have learnt many new skills, in a short time. I like that we have been put into
groups, as it means I get to work with different people that I wouldn’t usually work with. In the theory side, it is good as it,
is going over things I have already learnt at GCSE, so it is refreshing my memory of what I have already learnt. Have more
time to make better notes, as sometimes when I look at my notes it just looks like random words on a page.
