Tutankhamun was a pharaoh of Egypt who died at age 19. When he was buried in his tomb, he was placed with many precious objects. In 1922, English Egyptologist Howard Carter discovered Tutankhamun's intact tomb, financed by Lord Carnarvon. Some strange events occurred after the tomb's opening, fueling speculation of a "Pharaoh's curse." Lord Carnarvon died 7 weeks after the opening, and Carter's pet canary was killed by a cobra on the opening day, both events some connected to violating the sealed tomb.
