Singularity is an open source, battle-tested framework for Mesos Clusters. It combines distributed job scheduling and lifecycle automation of resilient microservices. It is ideal for building PaaS infrastructures that can help high growth companies to sustain development velocity by significantly reducing the operational complexity and deployment friction. In this presentation, we share our experiences in developing the HubSpot PaaS / Deploy pipeline and in moving all our QA and production environment to Mesos. LINE GAMEプラットフォームの製品であるPIONの開発チームでは、ログ用、サービス用などの「用途」および開発環境、サンドボックス環境、本番環境などの「環境」という2つの要素の直積を取る形で複数のElasticsearch（以下Es）クラスタを管理しています。Esは非常に多機能なミドルウェアであるために単一クラスタの場合でもチューニングポイントが多く、管理は簡単ではないですが、複数のクラスタになるとより一層難しくなります。特に、各クラスタに属するノードの管理、インストールされているプラグインの管理などは非常に煩雑で間違えやすくなります。単一クラスタの際はKibanaのベーシックプランやcerebroなどのOSSである程度管理が可能ですが、複数クラスタを持っている場合の最善策は何でしょうか？
また、単一・複数にかかわらず Es クラスタそのものの状態を適切にモニタリングして必要に応じてアラートがほしいという要求は常にあります。Kibanaのmonitoring機能はSearch/Indexそれぞれについてlatencyを見ることができますが、より詳細なモニタリングをするにはクライアント側でmetricsを取っておく必要があります。

Let us show you how they can be found and what it means for the future of unwanted internet exposures.
Right now, at the click of a button, can you answer the question “What in my cloud environments is internet-facing?”. For most security teams the answer to this question would be a sigh and then “No.” We know that complexity is the enemy of security. We also know a comprehensive asset inventory is step one to any capable security program. How can we monitor for unnecessary exposures without knowing what’s on the internet?
In this presentation we will look at the most pragmatic ways to continuously analyze your cloud environments and operationalize that information to identify vulnerabilities.
Through examination of exposure patterns and analysis of passive DNS data, we explore real-world examples of global cloud breaches waiting to happen. There are thousands of vulnerable systems for the commonly used services (e.g. ElasticSearch) and more from the up and coming services you may not even know your organization is using yet.

Open Metadata and Governance with Apache Atlas
Learn how Apache Atlas is being enhanced to provide a universal open metadata and governance platform for all data processing across the enterprise. With open metadata, multiple metadata repositories, potentially from different vendors, can operate collaboratively to create an enterprise catalog of data that can be located, understood, used and governed. In this talk we will provide a detailed description of the extensions to the type system, new APIs, the connector framework, metadata discovery framework, governance action framework and the inter-operability that we are adding to Apache Atlas. We will show examples of these features in operation. For example, (1) how metadata is discovered and gathered into Apache Atlas, (2) how applications and tools access metadata, (3) how enforcement engines such as Apache Ranger keep synchronized with the latest governance requirements and (4) how to build an adapter to allow other vendor's metadata repositories can exchange metadata with Apache Atlas repositories. The Modern Data Warehouse architecture is a response to the emergence of Big Data, Machine Learning and Advanced Analytics. DevOps is a key aspect of successfully operationalising a multi-source Modern Data Warehouse.
While there are many examples of how to build CI/CD pipelines for traditional applications, applying these concepts to Big Data Analytical Pipelines is a relatively new and emerging area. In this demo heavy session, we will see how to apply DevOps principles to an end-to-end Data Pipeline built on the Microsoft Azure Data Platform with technologies such as Data Factory, Databricks, Data Lake Gen2, Azure Synapse, and AzureDevOps.

Let us show you how they can be found and what it means for the future of unwanted internet exposures.
Right now, at the click of a button, can you answer the question “What in my cloud environments is internet-facing?”. For most security teams the answer to this question would be a sigh and then “No.” We know that complexity is the enemy of security. We also know a comprehensive asset inventory is step one to any capable security program. How can we monitor for unnecessary exposures without knowing what’s on the internet?
In this presentation we will look at the most pragmatic ways to continuously analyze your cloud environments and operationalize that information to identify vulnerabilities.
Through examination of exposure patterns and analysis of passive DNS data, we explore real-world examples of global cloud breaches waiting to happen. There are thousands of vulnerable systems for the commonly used services (e.g. ElasticSearch) and more from the up and coming services you may not even know your organization is using yet.

Open Metadata and Governance with Apache Atlas
Learn how Apache Atlas is being enhanced to provide a universal open metadata and governance platform for all data processing across the enterprise. With open metadata, multiple metadata repositories, potentially from different vendors, can operate collaboratively to create an enterprise catalog of data that can be located, understood, used and governed. In this talk we will provide a detailed description of the extensions to the type system, new APIs, the connector framework, metadata discovery framework, governance action framework and the inter-operability that we are adding to Apache Atlas. We will show examples of these features in operation. For example, (1) how metadata is discovered and gathered into Apache Atlas, (2) how applications and tools access metadata, (3) how enforcement engines such as Apache Ranger keep synchronized with the latest governance requirements and (4) how to build an adapter to allow other vendor's metadata repositories can exchange metadata with Apache Atlas repositories. We will also explain how these features can be deployed together to support the Hadoop platform, and the enterprise beyond. Ведь Вам знакома ситуация, когда каждый этап проекта выполняется в отдельной системе? Документы требований и спецификация тестов собираются в текстовом редакторе, разработка и баг-трекинг ведутся в Jira, сами тесты живут во внешнем инструменте, а отчеты - в редакторе таблиц. Отсутствие интеграции этих систем ведет к проблемам как в коммуникации внутри команды, так и в управлении всем процессом.
Трекинг всего проекта от начала до конца в единой интегрированной системе позволяет избежать этих проблем, улучшить эффективность всей команды, облегчить задачу менеджера, а также обеспечить полную трассируемость требований (V-model, tracibility matrix). В течение этой презентации мы покажем, как это можно реализовать на практике в Jira Software с применением специализированного приложения для управления требованиями и тестами.

Сергей Чугай с Центра Информационных проектов поделится докладом «Jira за пять минут».
Он опишет свой опыт установки, запуска контейнера с Jira, какие ошибки были с переездом проекта и плюсы в сравнение с классической схемой развертывания платформы Jira.
Далее Владимир Василькин (ALM Works, Санкт-Петербург) выступит с докладом «Pocker: играем с Jira и не только» - о том, как разработчики плагинов используют Docker.
Он расскажет, как с помощью инструмента Pocker можно просто и быстро поднимать разные конфигурации Jira и Confluence, выбирая разные СУБД, версии, плагины, базы, а затем управлять ими – запускать/выключать, просматривать логи и так далее.

В августе Яндекс.Деньги провели митап Jiramania. На нем разработчики и администраторы рассказали про отмычки и ноу-хау по работе с Jira.
Помимо неспешных бесед за кофе и круассанами, Гончик Цымжитов из ITIVITI поделился перцовыми пластырями от боли обновления Jira. После чего на сцену вышел Вадим Гаузяк из СберТеха с результатами своего исследования дедлока в agile-плагине Jira 7.

Closing talk for the Performance Engineering track at Community Over Code EU (Bratislava, Slovakia, June 5 2024) https://eu.communityovercode.org/sessions/2024/why-apache-kafka-clusters-are-like-galaxies-and-other-cosmic-kafka-quandaries-explored/ Instaclustr (now part of NetApp) manages 100s of Apache Kafka clusters of many different sizes, for a variety of use cases and customers. For the last 7 years I’ve been focused outwardly on exploring Kafka application development challenges, but recently I decided to look inward and see what I could discover about the performance, scalability and resource characteristics of the Kafka clusters themselves. Using a suite of Performance Engineering techniques, I will reveal some surprising discoveries about cosmic Kafka mysteries in our data centres, related to: cluster sizes and distribution (using Zipf’s Law), horizontal vs. vertical scalability, and predicting Kafka performance using metrics, modelling and regression techniques. These insights are relevant to Kafka developers and operators.
