Discovering Trustworthiness:How Do You Define a Reliable IndividualbluetroyvictorVinay
Trust is the foundation of all healthy relationships, be they personal or professional. Whether it’s a friend, family member, colleague, or business partner, we rely on trust to build connections and achieve common goals. But what exactly makes a person trustworthy? Is it a set of specific traits, behaviors, or something more elusive? In this exploration, we delve into the essence of trustworthiness and how to define a reliable individual.
In international business where laws, communication and regular contact is weak when compared to working in the same country or city, trust becomes important. How do you develop it? Over the years, I have tried and studied some strategies that have worked for me. Have a look at this presentation. I hope it is helpful.
The word credibility has several meanings. Alternatively, it means capability of being believed, to command belief or to truthfulness or correctness of what one says.
1. Trust
Trust is a person’s willing dependence on
someone at a risk.
The risk is if the trustee breaches the trust,
the trustor may be harmed in some way.
2. Why a Lot of People do NOT Trust You?
You are unpredictable. Trust requires a
predictable behaviour.
You like to be free from commitments.
Trust requires a commitment to the trustor.
You are insecure. The more insecure you
are, the more unpredictable you can be.
3. Should You be Predictable?
The bad thing is if you are predictable, then
- you are an easy target for crime.
- you can be perceived as boring and
mundane.
The good thing is
- you can be trusted and thus have friends.
- you can have strong relationships and
business ties.
4. What to do if Trust is Broken?
Trust is not an obligation.
An obligation requires you to be legally
bound to do something.
If you break a trust, a trustor can be hurt and
then take it easy or react strongly.
If you are hurt, you can take it easy to react
strongly.
5. Who to Trust?
Trust someone based on the person’s
predictability, commitment, and security.
You should not rely on a person who
- is not clearly committed to your interests.
- is personally struggling to be financially,
emotionally, or physically secured.
- has an unclear position about future
behaviour.
6. How to Improve Your Trustworthiness?
Do not give the wrong signals. People want
apple and may be you are giving oranges.
Open up and communicate your
commitment, future plans, and obligations.
Demonstrate your state of security with
credible proofs.
7. Age and Trust
A young person is unpredictable, insecure,
and lack obligations.
Decision of trust comes from gut feelings.
Be predictably charming to build trust.
8. If you are entrepreneurial, you are insecure.
Be open about your entrepreneurial plans.
If you are an explorer, you lack obligations.
Be open about your exploration plans.
Communicate your commitments clearly to
those who are using their gut feelings.
9. Distrust
People generally trust those
- who communicate clearly
- who are settled and are not exploring around
- who are secured and are not risk takers
Two people can have two different goals.
This is not distrust.
Hiding one’s goals and future plans lead to
distrust.
10. Conclusion
Make sure that communication has taken
place and everybody clearly knows where you
are heading.
Listen to a person. Evaluate the goals,
objectives, and aspirations and see how it fits.
Do not take the trust of others on you for
granted. You need to build it.
