Bell Work
 Should be started when the bell rings.
 Should be completed in your math notebook.
 Bell Work questions are important because they solidify
ideas/concepts from the day before.
 Should have unit plan (hard copy) out and ready to rate
yourself, answer questions, and or discuss.
Friday Homework Quiz
 Reasoning: It will let us know if you are practicing like you
should. It will allow you to see if you are writing enough down
in your notes and on your homework assignments to be
successful.
 Directions: You will be given 3-5 problems to answer. The only
information that you will be given is pg. 136 #12. The only thing
that you will be allowed to us on your quiz will be your
homework/note notebook. You must included all the stops for
it to be considered correct. Just an answer it not good enough.
You will have 5 minutes to complete this.
 Gradebook: Your score will go into the gradebook and at this
point it will not impact your overall grade but that is not to say
it won’t 3rd trimester.

 Learning Target: What we would like to have accomplished by
the end of today.
 Focus Question: Is to help keep the big picture in mind.
 PBIS Goal: Is to remind us of the behaviors and attitudes we
need to have for everyone to be successful.
 Language Goal: To remind us how to communicate using
mathematical language.
Assessments and Behavior
 Goal: To master the content the first time!
 No Chromebooks or phones are allowed anytime after the
test has been handed out.
 There is NO talking during testing both while you have a test
and once you are finished testing. (1st time or retakes)
Studying Tips
 Do your homework!
 Make sure it is organized with the page number, problem numbers and answers
circled.
 Show your steps.
 Be more organized when taking notes (write more)
 Highlight important things from your notes each night
 Make daily or weekly sets of notecards and review them daily
New Year’s Math Resolution
 Set a goal for yourself
 Something that you have total control over.
 Put it on your notecard and place it on the inside cover of your math
notebook along with submitting it online so we can help keep you
focused on your goal.
My Goal: giving out blue tickets to everyone who has their homework
completed and math notebook organized at least 2 times a week.
Reasoning: Trying to encourage more practice and to have a good end of the
year.

Tri 2 routine update math

  • 1. What you need to hear for the second half of the year 2014-2015
  • 2. Whole Group Small Group Activity Individual Work Time Testing Taking Transitions (coming and going) Be Prepared Have what you need for class -Chromebook -Notebook (HW) -Pencil Listen to all directions before moving to the next activity Have independent practice completed and ready to share Have what you need for the activity Have what you need for class MUST have a pencil Calculators ONLY! Check homework within the first 3-5 min. Complete end of class task before exiting the room Be Responsible Be an active listener (Participating) Note taking Give back anything you borrow Use Chromebooks appropriately Focusing on the task at hand Give back anything you borrow Accomplishing the task at hand Be productively working on the task at hand Complete review Keep your eyes on your own paper Pick up your area -return calculators -return your desk to the proper position When leaving the classroom during class - Please ask appropriately -Take a pass with you Be Respectful Open Minded Set a good learning environment Raise hand and wait to be called on Let everyone’s voices be heard Leave area better than the way you found it Work well together with whomever you are assigned to work with Other’s work time Remain silent the rest of the class hour once the test has been distributed Place your answer on the line Be seated when the bell rings Remain seated until you are dismissed Stay quiet when moving from one activity to another Retakes: Quietly come in and wait in the back until I have time to help you Take the Initiative Be a leader - discussion starter Be a leader Take ownership of your role Ask questions when you don’t understand Ask if you have a question about the directions Respond appropriately back to a greeting or exiting remarks
  • 3. Bell Work  Should be started when the bell rings.  Should be completed in your math notebook.  Bell Work questions are important because they solidify ideas/concepts from the day before.  Should have unit plan (hard copy) out and ready to rate yourself, answer questions, and or discuss.
  • 4. Friday Homework Quiz  Reasoning: It will let us know if you are practicing like you should. It will allow you to see if you are writing enough down in your notes and on your homework assignments to be successful.  Directions: You will be given 3-5 problems to answer. The only information that you will be given is pg. 136 #12. The only thing that you will be allowed to us on your quiz will be your homework/note notebook. You must included all the stops for it to be considered correct. Just an answer it not good enough. You will have 5 minutes to complete this.  Gradebook: Your score will go into the gradebook and at this point it will not impact your overall grade but that is not to say it won’t 3rd trimester.
  • 5. Goals  Learning Target: What we would like to have accomplished by the end of today.  Focus Question: Is to help keep the big picture in mind.  PBIS Goal: Is to remind us of the behaviors and attitudes we need to have for everyone to be successful.  Language Goal: To remind us how to communicate using mathematical language.
  • 6. Assessments and Behavior  Goal: To master the content the first time!  No Chromebooks or phones are allowed anytime after the test has been handed out.  There is NO talking during testing both while you have a test and once you are finished testing. (1st time or retakes)
  • 7. Studying Tips  Do your homework!  Make sure it is organized with the page number, problem numbers and answers circled.  Show your steps.  Be more organized when taking notes (write more)  Highlight important things from your notes each night  Make daily or weekly sets of notecards and review them daily
  • 8. New Year’s Math Resolution  Set a goal for yourself  Something that you have total control over.  Put it on your notecard and place it on the inside cover of your math notebook along with submitting it online so we can help keep you focused on your goal. My Goal: giving out blue tickets to everyone who has their homework completed and math notebook organized at least 2 times a week. Reasoning: Trying to encourage more practice and to have a good end of the year.
