Clown
Thriller, Slasher
2 hours 5 minutes (125 minutes)
Opening - roughly 3 minutes.
The first scene will begin with the collage of the images of the clown in the studio.
Within the collage there will be different newspaper articles and pictures of the
clown showing that someone is tracking the clown and collecting evidence. This
will be shot as a pan shot, we practically experimented a dolly shot but we think
the pan shot is more effective for this scenario. Whilst this shot is taking place,
there will be the a low angle close up of the clowns feet walking towards the park.
These shots will be going back and forth from each other to create a suspense
right from the beginning of the film.
The following shot is when you are introduced to both Ava and Noah our main
characters. There will be a short medium close up of the couple sitting in the park
underneath the slide. Doing what a couple does and just sitting talking and
reflecting on there life. It will then go into a long shot where you can see the
whole park, in this shot you see the roundabout spinning, then it will go to a close
up of the roundabout spinning. Then the following shot will be a close up of the
couple looking at each other and Ava looks reasonably scared and Noah tells her
not to worry because its ‘just the wind’.
The following shot will be when you are introduced to the clown. It will be a
medium close up of the clowns body. This will leave the suspense for the
audience of wondering who the man in the suit is. At this point the couple have
just forgotten about roundabout. The couple then hear the footsteps, so Noah
turns around to see if there is anyone and there is no one to be seen, this will be
an over the shoulder shot. He then clarifies that no one is to be seen with Ava.
The suspense will just be building higher and higher at this point it will be quick
shots of the Clown walking, and the couple talking. You then see the Clowns
hand touch the gate and slightly open it, once again the couple look around and
no one is to be seen. Before they know it there is a close up of the clown getting a
knife out of his suit behind the couple. There is then a long shot to establish the
positing of the characters and hor close the clown is to the characters. There is
then the first ever closeup you see of the clown, and his face is revealed. The
camera then follows the knife down towards Noah and then the title appears.
