The European Library is looking to expand its focus beyond national libraries to include research libraries. It aims to aggregate new forms of digital content from research libraries like research datasets, open access articles and monographs, digitized special collections, theses, and grey literature. It also wants to aggregate item-level descriptions and digitized versions of special collections to increase their visibility and discoverability. The European Library plans to create a European research platform by allowing libraries to share and retrieve content through Europeana Cloud. This will enable the research community to build tools on aggregated content. The goal is to better expose research library metadata and content to create new links and research opportunities.

Foksonomija

Information seeking behavior of national minorities’ secondary school student...
Internet in Latvia (a country in the Baltic region) became available for the wider public in the beginning of the 21st century. Online news, reference type information and social networks are everyday life necessities of modern individuals in Latvia. Current Latvian schoolchildren were born and raised in the Internet era, and these children are potential researchers. That is why it is so important to understand how modern schoolchildren conduct complex information searching processes for research purposes, what skills they possess, what problems they face and if they use library products and services. The case study was made in April, 2012 with the purpose of determining national minority secondary school students’ information seeking behaviour during the scientific research process: what information channels and resources they use and in what language this information is. Carol Collier Kuhlthau’s model of Information Search Process was chosen as a theoretical framework for this study. Complete study includes the results of six interviews with the schoolchildren who are doing their research on different IT topics and the results of the questionnaire completed by 119 secondary school students who did their research projects on different topics. This case study consists of the key findings from the interviews, and these interviews have revealed that schoolchildren pay great attention to the information search process.

The European (Digital) Library - Overview and Outlook
The European Library (www.theeuropeanlibrary.org) is a multilingual portal offering integrated access to the tens of millions of resources (books, magazines, journals...) of 18 national libraries in Europe. It offers free searching and delivers both digital and non-digital objects. It provides a vast virtual collection of mate-rials from all disciplines. The European Library is currently being expanded with the holdings of the national libraries of the 10 EU New Member States. From September 2006 onwards the remaining EU and EFTA na-tional libraries will be connected to TheEuropeanLibrary.org, bringing the total number of participating na-tional libraries to ±35 by the end of 2008.
In the beginning of 2006 the EC expressed support for The European Library to evolve into a much bigger European Digital Library (EDL), including access to the digital collections of other major cultural heritage institutions, such as museums and archives. The EDL is planned to include the holdings of all European na-tional libraries and a minimum of 2M digital works by the end of 2008. By 2010 the EDL needs to have ex-panded to include collections of archives, museums and other libraries, with a minimum of 6M digital works.
The European Library aims to remain a major player in the European cultural heritage field and is already strengthening its cooperation with other relevant key initiatives, such as MACS, DELOS, MICHAEL, BRICKS and MINERVA.

core of India. Mirzapur, with its varied terrains and abundant biodiversity, offers an optimal
environment for investigating the changes in vegetation cover dynamics. Our study utilizes
advanced technologies such as GIS (Geographic Information Systems) and Remote sensing to
analyze the transformations that have taken place over the course of a decade.
The complex relationship between human activities and the environment has been the focus
of extensive research and worry. As the global community grapples with swift urbanization,
population expansion, and economic progress, the effects on natural ecosystems are becoming
more evident. A crucial element of this impact is the alteration of vegetation cover, which plays a
significant role in maintaining the ecological equilibrium of our planet.Land serves as the foundation for all human activities and provides the necessary materials for
these activities. As the most crucial natural resource, its utilization by humans results in different
'Land uses,' which are determined by both human activities and the physical characteristics of the
land.
The utilization of land is impacted by human needs and environmental factors. In countries
like India, rapid population growth and the emphasis on extensive resource exploitation can lead
to significant land degradation, adversely affecting the region's land cover.
Therefore, human intervention has significantly influenced land use patterns over many
centuries, evolving its structure over time and space. In the present era, these changes have
accelerated due to factors such as agriculture and urbanization. Information regarding land use and
cover is essential for various planning and management tasks related to the Earth's surface,
providing crucial environmental data for scientific, resource management, policy purposes, and
diverse human activities.
Accurate understanding of land use and cover is imperative for the development planning
of any area. Consequently, a wide range of professionals, including earth system scientists, land
and water managers, and urban planners, are interested in obtaining data on land use and cover
changes, conversion trends, and other related patterns. The spatial dimensions of land use and
cover support policymakers and scientists in making well-informed decisions, as alterations in
these patterns indicate shifts in economic and social conditions. Monitoring such changes with the
