UNESCO world heritage
site.
 The gardens are kept in
excellent shape, making this a
popular relaxation and picnic
spot.

9. Lotus Temple
 Shaped like a lotus bud with
27 petals, this stunning
temple suspended above milky-
blue ponds is surely one of
the most magnificent
monuments ever made from
concrete.
 The lush park outside is
well landscaped.

10. India Gate
This monument has been
built as a memorial for
the Indian soldiers who
died in World War I.
There is also a fire
("eternal flame") burning
for all fallen Indian
soldiers.
A central landmark of
Delhi.

11. Jantar Mantar
Open during 0900-1800 hrs.
One of five monumental observatories commissioned
bySawai Jai Singh II of Jaipur during the 18th
century.
Old structures inside are actually enormous scientific
instruments for measuring the movement of celestial
bodies.

12. Nehru Park
It is a large park situated in Chanakyapuri, named after
India's first prime minister Jawaharlal Nehru.
It is today, one of the city leading green areas, and a venue
for "Morning Ragas and Evening Ragas".

13. National Museum
 It is one of the largest
museum in India.
 It holds variety of articles
ranging from pre-historic to
modern works of art.
 The museum has 200,000
works of art, both of Indian
and foreign origin, covering
over 5,000 years.

14. National Science Centre
It is a must see for
science enthusiasts.
A good place to refresh
your basics.
Has a recently built
section on DNA science
and also has an section
on Ancient Indian

15. Darjeeling
Himalayan city in the
Indian state of West Bengal.
It is internationally
renowned as a tourists
destination, along with its
tea industry and Darjeeling
himalayan railway, a
UNESCO world heritage
site.

16. Himalayan Mountaineering Institute
One of the most visited spot in Darjeeling.
It regularly conducts adventure, basic and advanced
mountaineering courses.
This institute was created by the late Tenzing Norgay.

17. Himalayan Zoo
It has a good collection
of animals found in
Himalayan regions.
Animals seem to be

19. Batasia Loop
It is an engineering
marvel where the railway
tracks intersects to form
a figure of eight.
The War Memorial at
the centre of the loop
honours those sons of
Darjeeling who died in
several wars since 1947.

20. Tiger Hills
Ideal to visit early morning
when the first rays of sun
kiss the Mt.Kanchenjunga
and give it a golden color.
To visit the hills,you need to
get up at 0300 hrs in the
morning.

21. Japanese Peace Pagoda
This impressing building
is part of a grid of around
30 pagodas spanning the
whole globe.
Constructed by the
Japanese Buddhist
Nipponzan-Myohoji
Order.

22. Rock Garden
It's a beautiful place
with a small
waterfall.
This place has got
varities of flowers
landscaped in the
rocks.

23. Nightingale Park
 It is a beautiful park with a
package of cultural program
performed daily during the
tourist season.
 Its opening time is 4.00 p.m.
and closing time is 8.00 p.m.
 The park has recently been
extensively re-developed.

greenery.

A 1900s era gaol (jail)

criminals of the era.

Association)
Introduction
• It was found in 1966.
• It represents about 32,000 travel agencies.
Aims

Organization of Travel Agents.
• To act as a sole representative of the travel agency
profession at international.
• To ensure the maximum possible cohesion, prestige,
protection and development in the economic, juridicial
and social sphere for the tourist trade economy.

• It encourages the preparations and publications of legal,
economical and social surveys in connection with the
travel agency profession.
• In the field of profession training it co-operates in the
training of executives and employees of the travel agents
by circulating travel study courses and by establishing
uniform standards.

68. PATA(Pacific Area Travel Association)
It was found in the year 1951 to stimulate interest in
the pacific region as a vacationland.
It's first Asian office was opened in
Manila,Philippines in the year 1976.
Its underlying philosophy is that the entire travel
industry must work together to develop and ever-
increasing flow of pleasure travel from which each
member will derive a fair share of the total business.
It provides up to date information on the field of
tourism and the practical and theoretical experience
in the field of tourism.

69. ICAO(International Civil Aviation Organization)
Created as a permanent body on April 4,1947.
The agency sets international standards and
regulations necessary for the safety, efficiency and
regularity of air transport.
The agency has been instrumental in improving
meteorological services, ATC, air to ground
communications, SAR operations and other
measures for safe international flight.
The fight against hijacking and other terrorist
attacks and the effects of aircraft noise on the
environment have also been of special concern to the
ICAO.

In chicago,in the year 1944, in an international meeting, this
convention was concluded.
It governs relation between states on technical as well as
commercial subjects connecting International Air Transport
such as,

• rules of the air speed of disease
• Nationality of aircraft
• Facilitation
• Documents
• International standards and practises, including those for carriage
of dangerous goods
• Statistics, Finance, Technical assistance, etc...

72. The WARSAW CONVENTION
In 1929,the Warsaw Convention-an
intergovernmental agreement concluded with
severalamendments and additions which includes the
liability of airlines for death or injury to passengers
and for loss, damage or delay to baggage and cargo in
most international travel.

73. The MONTREAL CONVENTION
The maximum baggage liability limit for checked
and unchecked baggage is 1000 SDR's per customer
unless a higher value is declared and applicable
charges are paid in advance.
Special Drawing Rights is an international
monetary fund currency unit.The SDR is
Converted to USD for financial settlement
purposes.

75. Freedoms Of Air
The Chicago convention defined "freedoms of
the air", which are put into practise as a result
of the bilateral agreements between pairs of
countries. There are six freedoms of air.

The right of an airline of a country to fly
across the territory of another country
without landing.

77. Second Freedom
The right of an airline of a country to land in
the territory of another country for non-trafic
purposes, for instance refueling, crew FDTL,
Technical malfunctioning etc...

78. Third Freedom
The right of an airline of a country to set
down in another country passengers, mail
and cargo coining from the home country
of the airline.

79. Fourth Freedom
The right of an airline of a country to
pick up in another country
passengers, mail and cargo destined
for the home country of the airline.

80. Fifth Freedom
The right of an airline of a country to carry
passengers, mail and cargo from a point of
origin in a foreign country to a point of
destination in another foreign country.

81. Sixth Freedom
The passengers, mail and cargo are carried
from a point of origin in a foreign country to a
point of destination in another foreign
country via the home country of the airline.
