2. Taj Mahal, Agra
 The Taj Mahal is the Indian Historical Monument that was built by the
Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan in the year 1643.
 It comes under 7 wonders of the World.
 It lies in the city of Agra, Uttar Pradesh.
 It is made from Ivory White Marble which is known as “Sangemarmar” in
Urdu.
 It was built in the memory of Shah Jahan’s wife Mumtaz.
 It was declared as a UNESCO World Heritage site in the year 1983.
 It was also declared as a “Jewel of the Muslim Art of India”.

3. Red Fort, Delhi
 It is an Indian Historical Monument that lies in the city of Old Delhi.
 It was built by Shah Jahan in the year 1638 when he decided to shift his
Capital from Agra to Delhi.
 The fort is made from Red Sandstone and the painting on the fort was
done by Ustad Ahmed Lahori.
 It tooks 10 years to complete the construction of the fort.
 It was the residence of Mughals and one water stream called Nehr-i-
Behesht was connected to the Apartments of the fort.
 The first Prime Minister of India, Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru hoisted the flag
on Lahori gate and gave the speech standing on the ramparts.

4. Amer Fort, Jaipur
 The Amer Fort is an Indian Historical Monument that lies in the City of
Jaipur, Rajasthan.
 It was built and established by Raja Man Singh.
 It was later completed in the year 1727 by Sawai Jai Singh.
 The Structure of the fort was later expanded by Jai Singh 1.
 There were 2 entrance gates to enter the fort’s premises. One is Sun Gate
and another one is Moon Gate.
 The Royal Family were used to be entered by Sun Gate and the common
peoples were used to be entered by Moon Gate.

5. Hawa Mahal, Jaipur
 It is the Indian Historical Monument which lies in the Jaipur City of
Rajasthan.
 It is situated at the end of City Palace of Jaipur City.
 It was founded in the year 1799 by Maharaja Sawai Pratap Singh, the
grandson of Maharaja Sawai Jai Singh.
 It was built from red and pink sandstones.
 It was built after Khetri Mahal due to the Inspiring of Maharaja Sawai Jai
Singh.
 It has a 5 Floor Structure looking like a honeycomb with 953 small small
Windows which is called Jharokas in Hindi decorated by latticework.

6. Ranthambore National Park
 It is a National Park of India which was named after Ranthambore fort.
 It lies in the State of Rajasthan closed to Sawai Madhopur District.
 It spreads among 1334 Square Kilometers.
 It is bounded by the Banas River in North and Chambal River in South.
 It is the home to around 539 species of Flowering Plants.
 It is the home to many wild animals like Bengal Tigers, Hyenas, Indian
Leopards, bears, crocodiles.etc.

7. Jim Corbett National Park
 It is the Indian National Park which lies in Nainital and Pauri Garhwal
District of Uttarakhand State.
 It was established in the year 1936 as a Hailey National Park specially to
protect Bengal Tigers.
 The National Park lies in 520 Sq Kms which includes Forest, Riverine Belts,
marshy depressions, grasslands, hills and a large lake.
 This was the first National Park to come under the Project Tiger.
 It is the Dense moist Decidious Forest which consists of Mango trees, Sal,
Rohini and Haldu and Peepal Trees.
 The National park covers 73% area of forest and 10% area of grassland.

8. Agra Fort, Agra
 It is a Indian Historical monument which lies in the City of Agra, Uttar
Pradesh.
 It was built by the Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan.
 It was the residence of Mughals until 1638 when the capital was shifted
from Agra to Delhi.
 It was declared as the UNESCO World Heritage Site in the year 1983.
 The Mughals captured the Fort after the first Battle of Panipat (1526).
 During the reign of Akbar (from year 1556 to 1605), the fort got its present
appearance.

9. Golden Temple, Amritsar
 A Golden Temple also known as Harmandir Sahib is an Indian Historical
Monument as well as Religious place of Sikhs in the Indian City of Amritsar,
Punjab.
 It is also called Darbar Sahib which means exalted court in English. It is a
preminent spiritual site of Sikhism.
 The Pool on which the Gurudwara built is a man-made pool that was
completed by the fourth Sikh Guru whose name is Guru Ramdas in the
year 1577.
 The 5th Guru of Sikh Guru Arjan has requested to Mir Mian Mohammed, a
Pir of Lahore to lay its foundation stone in the year 1589.
 The Gurudwara was again and again rebuilt by the Sikhs, because its
destroyed several times by Mughals and Invading Afghan armies.

10. Mysore Palace, Mysore
 The Mysore Palace is the Indian Historical Monument and the royal
residence in City Mysore, Karnataka.
 t is the official residence of Yadav Wadiyar dynasty and the seat of the
kingdom Mysore.
 The Palace built in the center of the City Mysore and eastern part of the
Palace is faced to Chamundi Hills.
 The Land on which the palace is built is called Puragiri and now it is known
as old fort.
 Yaduraya built the first Palace inside the old fort in 14th Century which was
demolished and constructed many times.

11. Mehrangarh Fort, Jodhpur
 The Mehrangarh fort is an Indian historical monument that was built
by Rao Jodha in the year 1459.
 It is located at the height of 125m above the town and surrounded by
thick stone walls.
 There are many Palaces inside the wall boundary which is known for their
carvings and expansive courtyards.
 On the second gate, the marking of cannonballs fired by armies
of Jaipur can be seen.
 At the left side of the fort, there is a chhatri of Kirat Singh Soda, a soldier
who fell on the spot defending Mehrangarh.
 There is one Museum inside the Mehrangarh Fort and it is one of the well-
stocked museum in the state of Rajasthan.
