Reduce, Reuse, Recycle – How can we repurpose items that some
may think of as trash
Camilla McBarnette’s 3rd Grade Class
2. Objectives
• The students will research recycling and reusing items for
environmental conservation purposes
• Students will practice language arts presentation skills to present
their work to the class
• Projects will be displayed for other classes to learn about
repurposing to conserve
3. Project
• Visit from Scrap Exchange, non-profit reusing items for art,
students will view video on Recycling/Reusing/Reducing

• Students will pair up in groups.
• They will research and create a recycling/re-use project
• Students will show the end result and present it for the class in
pairs.
• Teacher will post projects outside of the classroom when done.
4. Materials
• iPad per group or Chromebook for research and preparation of the
display
• Scissors, glue, poster board,
• Color printer, paper, color paper
• Students to get creative in finding their recyclable items.
