enjoys eating Italian food, at several small
restaurants in Dallas Texas area.
Italian cuisine is recognized around the world for
its rich, fresh flavors. There is a wide range of
traditional Italian dishes that derive from various
areas around the country; the following are just a
few of the more well-known ones:
 - Caprese salad: made from very fresh
ingredients, caprese salad typically consists of
firm tomatoes and fresh burrata dressed with a
bit of olive oil and balsamic vinegar. This dish
can use a single type of tomato or combine a
variety of types and sizes.
- Polpette al sugo: a more traditional version of
spaghetti and meatballs, polpette al sugo is just
small meatballs in a tomato sauce. This dish
particularly profits from having fresh ingredients.
 - Arancini Veneziani: translated as Venetian rice
fritters, this dish is a popular snack in Sicily. Just
fried rice balls that are scented with saffron and
filled with ragu, arancini veneziani typically are
seasoned with sharp Parmesan cheese.
- Pasta all’arrabbiata: a variation of the seafood
and tomato pasta dishes commonly found in
Sicily and Southern Italy, pasta all’arrabbiata
offers a bit of a spicy kick. Rather than using a
basic tomato sauce, this dish adds in red chile
peppers for spice.
