Carlos Manuel Marques wants to succeed by attending school at Alverca to earn his high school diploma. This is an important opportunity for him, as he did not previously have the chance to finish school due to health issues and family problems. Earning his diploma is the first step towards his dream of attending a film special effects program at university. However, he acknowledges that dream may need to be put on hold due to monetary issues. For now, his goal is to complete his studies at Alverca to improve his career prospects and status.

But I have to write it, and the English language for me is my second language. Of course, when I am writing it, the errors will come along, but that doesn’t mean that I am afraid of writing it. I want to say, that I am very delighted to do what I am doing, which is to attend at alverca to apply to the school degree. In this case, it is the twelveth year, the last degree in Portuguese curriculum. After that only the university. I always have a dream, of being in movie industry. My dream is to attend a course, for special effects for the movie. But it’s a dream, which need to be in stand bye, because of monetary issues. And because the university degree, are now in three years, I would probably try to apply for a different course or subject, so that in my work I could aim for a better position and different status. It is very important in my life, to attend at alverca, because I have never had the chance to finish the school. Because of health issues and family problems. That s an important opportunity, given by the Portuguese government, and that shows that the degree we have at the moment, stipulated as obligation, of nine years, it is not enough and to aim for higher dreams we need to be more educated and our life need to be more secure. I am making a big effort to do all the works we need and to write it down. It’s important that I don’t loose the focus and the routines I have. Otherwise we will loose concentration, the power to synthesize all the matters. I hope that these mere words, will demonstrate that no matter the errors, you will understand what I have said here.
