Ramiro II of Aragon, the Monk, cut off the heads of twelve disobedient noblemen who did not obey his orders. According to the legend, Ramiro II summoned the noblemen to Huesca under the pretense of making a bell that could be heard throughout the kingdom. However, once they arrived, Ramiro II beheaded the twelve noblemen as punishment for their disobedience. The bell was then made using their bodies, with the Bishop of Huesca placed in the center as the clapper. The legend served as a warning to others not to defy the king's authority.
