for good children and black coal for bad
children. In Spain on 6 January “Los Reyes
Magos” bring presents too.
In Spain is very typical go to the funfair
with family, friends...
Some Christmas' food is nougat candy
,chocolates, ham, prawns, and so on.
2. NEW YEAR
On 31 December we celebrate New Year. In this
festival people have dinner with family . In Spain is very
usual eat 12 grapes and drink Champagne at twelve o'clock
to celebrate the year begins.
Then, people go to parties and drink a lot . This time is to
have fun !
3. CARNIVAL
This celebration is very important
in Brazil but is celebrated in many
places of the world.
In this festival people wear original
costumes.
There are parades through the
streets with loud music and lots of
bright colours.
In Spain the most famous places
where is celebrate are Cádiz and
Canary Islands.
According to the Guinness Book of
Records , the celebration of the
world's largest Carnival is Rio de
Janeiro.
4. SAINT VALENTINE
Saint Valentine is a popular tradition
in the whole world.
It's celebrate on 14 February and in
some countries it's called the lovers
day.
In this celebration people send each
other valentine's cards or chocolates'
box , roses...
Some people think it is a good day to
marry with the person that he/she
loves.
but not everyone uses this day to
show their love to their couple unless
they show their love to their friends.
5. FOURTH OF JULY
The fourth of july also called
Independence Day is the national
day in United States that is
celebrated on 4 July.
The families celebrate this day
going to picnics, barbacues, and
playing games.
There are parades,loud music and
you can see the American flag
everywhere.
It's a very patriotic day and it's so
important for the americans
because they celebrate the day
that the 13 colonies got the
independece.
6. EASTER
Easter is a christianity celebration. Every
year is celebrated in diferent days(it's no
a celebration with fixed day).In Spain is
called “Semana Santa” .
In this day,christian people celebrate the
Jesus resurrection(who resurrected 3
days after of his death)
In places as Cartagena, Catalonia,
C.Valenciana, Baleares Islands, Murcia
and Aragón is very usual to eat “La Mona
de Pascua”. It's like a kind of sponge
cake that has egg inside. A tradition is
break the egg in the forehead of
somebody.
This festival is celebrated in christianity
places all over the world. For example in
USA is very typical celebrate this festival
outdoors. The famous Easter Egg Hunt
encourages children to look for
chocolates eggs.
7. HALLOWEEN
Halloween also known Witches' Night is celebrated in many places on 31 October.
People Walk throught the streets during the night wearing costumes (creepy costumes) and
they go to costumes' parties too.
Children go tothe neighbours asking for “trick or treat” and they get a lot of candies; if you
don't give them candies they probably through eggs at your house or something worst.
The jack o'lantern is a typical halloween's food too.
People decorate their houses and the colours are usually black (for nights and dead) and
orange (for the autumn vegetables)
8. THANKSGIVING
Thanksgiving Day in the United States
is a holiday on the fourth Thursday of
November.
Thanksgiving is a traditional day for
families to get together and eat a
special meal. The meal ofthen includes
a turkey, vegetables, pumpkin pie and
so on.
Thanksgiving Day is a time for many
people to give thanks for what they
have.
This day is a popular time for trips and
to visit family and friends too.
In the USA, Thanksgiving Day is an
important day for American football and
many people go to watch football.
