Ashwa Racing has ventured into Combustion Formula style race car prototypes since 2003 until recently also diversified into developing Hybrid and Electric Formula style race car prototype. Key reason being to participate in the Hybrid category of the Formula Student SAE event. This being a strategy driven initiative which will help the team in expanding its technical expertise as well as being in tune with green technology requirements.
Moreover, ashwa Racing aspires to be a part of niche club of Indian teams participating in the Formula Hybrid event. The Hybrid event poses a great deal of challenges before the students, requiring a harmonious blend of both mechanical and electrical aspects of engineering to build a worthy prototype.
The Team works in a very organized manner just like an Industry and attaining standards of an International Formula Student Racing team and the team is structured in such a way so as to produce all round individuals and capable engineers .

•SAE Baja is an Inter-colligate off road racing competition where the top engineering colleges in India successfully fabricate and race there all-terrain vehicles.
•The competition has various automotive giants like Mahindra, General motors etc. powering the event.
•The contest challenges each team to function as a firm whose objective is to design, fabricate, market and race off their vehicles that would be evaluated on a variety of manufacturing angles by various professionals from the sponsoring automotive companies.
The method described in this presentation is just one way of pulling the build off, mostly based on what my team did. There is no doubt that there might be better ways. The purpose of this presentation was for the newbies to see how the various mechnicals come together, their relative proportions, sizes, positions, layouts, etc.
Also, I shall carry out corrections and revisions from time to time, so that more information can be passed on effectively to successive BAJA aspirants.

4. ABOUT BAJA
The BAJA SAE Series® is an event for the undergraduate
engineering students, organized globally by the Society of
Automotive Engineers International
The Event takes place in different countries like – USA, South
Africa, Korea, Brazil and India
The BAJA SAE tasks the students to design, fabricate and
validate a single seater four – wheeled off road vehicle to take
part in series of events spread over a course of 3 days that
test the vehicle for the sound engineering practices that have
gone into it, the agility of the vehicle in terms of gradability,
speed, acceleration and manoeuvrability characteristics and
finally its ability to endure that back breaking durability test

Around 300 Institutes and Universities participated in
the BAJA India 2015 which included 5000 Students ! Big

TOM-CAR VIKINGS was established in 2009, in
the premises of IITE by a group of AUTOMOBILE
and MECHANICAL undergraduates, who like
many others in the country for the first time
were taking up a challenge to build an ATV for
the event
