Lori's journey through college and career was non-linear. She started in business but changed majors and schools multiple times without a clear goal. She quit college to become a dental assistant, which she enjoyed, but then returned to college to become a teacher after realizing she liked working with children. She had a daughter during teacher training but later went back and earned both a bachelor's and master's degree to become a certified teacher. She is now substitute teaching to gain experience for a full-time teaching position.
