3. Grading of
lumber
Lumber is commonly graded under such heading as yard
lumber, structural timber, and factory or shop lumber. There
are two grades of yard lumber--- select and common. Select
number is classified according to A,B,C, and D grades.
Common lumber is classified according to 1 ,2 ,3 ,4, and 5
grades. Standard abbreviations to describe lumber grades
are as follows:
8. Plywood is a by-product of lumber. It is made of large,
thin layers of wood pressed and glued together to make it
stronger and is suited to many needs than plain wood.
