The Titles at the beginning of a film have an important running order. This order goes from the least
important crew and cast member to the most important member, The Director.
In the film ‘Halloween’ (1978), the first title to come up is the words ‘Halloween’ as this is the film
name and even though it’s important to know what the film is called, it’s more important to know
who edited the film, who did all of the sound effects and music, who produced the film and most of
all who directed the film.

‘Halloween’s title sequence goes through the actors names first as even though these guys stared in
the picture they didn’t actually have any input on how the film was made, edited, shot or put
together in general. Then it mentions the Director of Photography and the Production Manager
before going on to show the Executive Producer, the Producer and the Director. These guys have
had a massive part in making sure the film turns out the way that the audience will see it; making
sure the Director is happy with the way everything turns out.
