Tips and tricks for getting through the second part: Examiner’s perspective by Dr Mary Pinder

Editor's Notes

  1. I’m sure some of you at least have this feeling about the exam and I hope that the next 10 min or so will help you feel a bit less helpless and more in control. There’s a lot of advice in the exam reports and we try hard to give useful feedback and tips for exam performance including some do’s and don’t’s so I’m not going to repeat that information. And a lot of what I’m going to say is common sense. I thought it would be more useful to give some other tips and allow enough time for your questions. This is not going to be a magic bullet or the Holy Grail and certainly not a list of thou shall nots. Based on watching a lot of trainees go through exam practice and the real thing and seeing what works and what doesn’t. A lot of it is common sense
  2. Not enough just to do practice SAQs – need to have a solid foundation of knowledge
