PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE
 June 2012 –Present: Health and Safety Coordinator (100% Safety), Dis-Tran steel and Dis-Tran
Wood :
Conducted in depth Hazard Analysis and produced Job Safety Analysis with safe work practices. Conducted
frequent Job Safety Observations to ensure proper performance and updated/improved JSA as required.
Designed and implemented the quarterly Safety incentive program with an average quarterly payout of
approximately $22,000. Conducted all Safety training for 300 employees to include fork lift operations, overhead
crane certification, material handling, CPR, Blood Borne pathogens, and First Aid, Hazard recognition, Supervisor
incident response and incident root cause analysis. Ensured that all OSHA 1910 for General Industry requirements
were met by the company thru an in-depth Job Hazard Analysis, audit program and metric system. Advised the
Corporate and Company leadership on Hazards and made recommendations for Engineer, Administrative or
Personal Protective Equipment controls. Designed and implement a Behavioral Based Safety program to include
an Observation card program to gather and leverage leading indicators. Administered the Hearing conservation
program to include all audio gram testing and tracking. Maintained a First responder crew that was qualified and
trained to respond to any type emergency. Managed all injuries and worker compensation for claim for Crest
Corporation. Used Microsoft office suite (Word, Excel, Access, Outlook, Visio and PowerPoint) to conduct all
administrative tasks required to do an efficient job of all task listed above. Kept a very detail calendar and task list
using Microsoft Outlook.
 May 10 – June 2012: Human Resources Generalist and Occupational Health and Safety Specialist
Crest Industries, (50% HR and 50% Safety) Dis-Tran Steel and Dis-Tran Wood:
Filled requisitions for replacement or new employees thru aggressively recruiting, qualifying, and processing
applicants. Conducted new employee orientation and training in all OSHA required topics. Completed all required
new hire paperwork. Reviewed Corporate employee handbook to ensure proper understanding of all company
polices and rules. Used ULTIPRO software to manage all incoming applications, appointments, and statuses.
Pulled required personnel reports, payroll data, training data, etc. from said software as required. Helped all
employees with benefit issues. Read and interpreted EOB’s from 401K program, Health Care program and Dental
insurance provider. Maintained all plant bulletin boards in accordance with State and Federal labor law
requirements. Plan, coordinate and administer the company drug abuse program to include pre-employment,
random, post-accident and reasonable suspicion drug screening. Administered the hearing conservation program as
required by OSHA. Administered the employee of the quarter and year programs. Administered the quarterly
birthday cake program for all employees. Designed and implemented the quarterly Safety incentive program with
an average quarterly payout of $8500. Conducted all Safety training for 200 employees to include fork lift
operations, overhead crane certification, CPR, Blood Borne pathogens, and First Aid. Ensured that all OSHA 1910

 May 08 – Retirement (May 2010): Operations Sergeant Major and Battle Staff NCOIC.
Volunteered to deploy with the 225 Engineer Brigade. Responsibility for the Tactical Operations Center during the
entire deployment. Assigned as Iraqi Army Partnership Non-commissioned officer in charge. Assisted in training and
helping the Iraqi Army and Federal Police to organize and function as professional organizations. Supervised a local
academy that conducted training in Route Clearance procedures to Coalition forces as well as Iraqi Army and Federal
Police. Supervised the transformation of the Programs of Instruction from English to Arabic. As the assistant operation
Sergeant Major and Battle Staff Non-commissioned officer in charge, focused on the following Subject areas: Risk
management; small group process; supply operations; transportation/tactical movement planning; reconstitution;
graphics and overlays; combat support; military decision making process (MDMP); plans, orders, and annexes; combat
records and reports; intelligence preparation of the battlefield (IPB); military briefings; introduction to army battle
command system (ABCS); information operations; urban operations; rehearsals; maneuver control system (MCS); and
staff functions. Frequently briefed a 1 star general and his staff on current and planned operations. Awarded the Army
Bronze Star Medal for performance during operation Enduring Freedom while stationed in Iraq.
 Aug 07 - May 08: Operations Sergeant Major for State Joint Operations Center (JOC).
Responsible for all enlisted matters. Scheduled and supervised all enlisted Soldiers to ensure proper manning and
function of the JOC. Ensured that Commanders Update Assessment briefings were complied and presented accurately.
Coordinated and trained all Soldiers on battle tracking, communications systems, Common Operational Picture and
automation requirements. Worked with local parish emergency operations centers in the state to coordinate National
Guard assistance. Coordinated with the Governor’s Office of Homeland defense to ensure accurate situational
awareness of National Guard operations throughout the state.
 Jul 95 - Aug 07: Strength Maintenance NCO, Recruiting Area Supervisor, Recruiting and
Retention Sergeant Major. Responsible for prospecting, refining and tracking leads. Scheduled and conducted the
Career Direction program, You Can Schools Program and several other programs in 100% of assigned high schools.
Conducted enlistment, attrition management and retention interviews. Established media contacts, with local newspaper
and television reporters, to help garner positive influence for the National Guard. Conducted strength maintenance
interview and briefings to the Company and Battalion size units. Once promoted to Master Sergeant, assumed the
responsibility for a recruiting area. Supervised 10-12 Strength Maintenance Non-commission officers to ensure that they
accomplished the above requirements. Once promoted to Sergeant Major supervised 6 Master Sergeants and
approximately 65 Strength Maintenance Non-commissioned officers to ensure success.
 Apr 94 - Jul 95: 2nd Tour as Instructor for the 199th Leadership Regiment.
 Jun 91 - Apr 94: Training NCO, Readiness NCO, Platoon Sergeant and acting First Sergeant.
 May 89 - Jun 91: Instructor for Primary Leadership Development Course (PLDC)/Basic Non-
Commissioned Officer -Course (BNCOC) at Region VI Non-Commissioned Officer Academy and 199th
Leadership Regiment.

Responsibility for the Tactical Operations Center during the entire deployment. Assigned as Iraqi Army Partnership Non-commissioned officer in charge. Assisted in training and helping the Iraqi Army and Federal Police to organize and function as professional organizations. Supervised a local academy that conducted training in Route Clearance procedures to Coalition forces as well as Iraqi Army and Federal Police. Supervised the transformation of the Programs of Instruction from English to Arabic. As the assistant operation Sergeant Major and Battle Staff Non-commissioned officer in charge, focused on the following Subject areas: Risk management; small group process; supply operations; transportation/tactical movement planning; reconstitution; graphics and overlays; combat support; military decision making process (MDMP); plans, orders, and annexes; combat records and reports; intelligence preparation of the battlefield (IPB); military briefings; introduction to army battle command system (ABCS); information operations; urban operations; rehearsals; maneuver control system (MCS); and staff functions.
