GOOD HEALTH IS A BLESSING AND ACCOUNTABLE
Prophet Mohammad(‫ﷺ‬) said:
 “There are two blessings which many people lose:
(They are) health and free time for doing good.”Sahi-Bukhari:5933
 “Ask Allah for forgiveness and health, for after being granted
certainty, one is given nothing better than health.” Tirmidhi
 "No one will be allowed to move from his position on the
Day of Judgement until he has been asked how he spent his
life, how he used his knowledge, how he earnt and spent his
money and in what pursuits he used his health" Tirmidhi

IS ILLNESS GOOD OR BAD?
Allah says in the Holy Qura’n:
 Be sure We shall test you with something of fear and hunger, some loss in goods or lives
or the fruits (of your toil), but give glad tidings to those who patiently persevere, who say,
when afflicted with calamity: "To Allah We belong, and to Him is our return": They are
those on whom (descend) blessings from Allah, and Mercy, and they are the ones that
receive guidance.
Qur'an 2:155-157
Aisha(r.a) reported, I did not see anyone else being afflicted with more severe
illness than Allah's Messenger(‫.)ﷺ‬ Muslim:6233
Prophet Muhammad(‫)ﷺ‬ said:
 “Whatever befalls a Muslim of exhaustion, illness, worry, grief, nuisance or trouble, even
though it may be no more than a prick of a thorn, earns him forgiveness by Allah of some
of his sins.” -Sahi Bukhari:544
 “On the Day of Resurrection, when people who have suffered affliction
(pain/harm/disease) are given their reward, those who are healthy will wish their skins
had been cut to pieces with scissors when they were in the world.” Tirmidhi:1570
 "If Allah wants to do good to somebody, He afflicts him with trials.“ -Sahi Bukhari:548
 “If Muslim is afflicted with any harm but that Allah will remove his sins as the leaves of a
tree fall down.“ -Sahi Bukhari:550

IS ANY DISEASE INCURABLE?
Prophet Muhammad(‫)ﷺ‬ said:
 “Allah has not sent down a disease except that He has also
sent down its cure.” Sahi Bukhari:582
 When the proper cure is applied to the disease, it heals by
Allah's Will. Muslim
 “AIIah has not sent down a disease except that He also sent
down its cure; whoever knows it (the cure), knows it, and
whoever is unaware of it (the cure), he is unaware of it.” (the
medicine) while those who are ignorant of it are unaware of
it.” An-Nasai, Ibn-Majah

WHAT WE SHOULD DO DURING ILLNESS?
“Allah burdens not an individual more than his capability”
Qura’n 2:286
Prophet Muhammed (‫)ﷺ‬ Said:
 ‘Don't curse fever for it expiates the sin of the posterity of
Adam just as furnace removes the alloy of iron.’ Muslim:6244
 To stop a person falling in the trap of worry and anxiety we
have been advised that: “Imaan (Faith) is between fear and
Hope!”.
Mishkat
A believer must seek medical aid and do everything he can to bring
about a cure or recovery, but at the same time he must seek help
through prayer, remembrance of God and acts of worship.

CONDITIONS BEFORE FOLLOWING
TIB-E-NABVI(‫:)ﷺ‬
 Prophetic medicine is only suitable for good and pure
bodies, just as the Quran is only suitable for righteous
souls and feeling hearts.
 Therefore, when the people ignore Prophetic medicine, it
is like ignoring the help and guidance of the Quran,
which is the most effective medicine. Again, when the
medicine (Quran and the Prophetic medicine) do not
work, it is due to the negativity in the body and soul that
are not suitable for accepting the medicine, not because
the medicine does not work. All success comes from
Allah.

BENEFITS OF TIB-E-NABVI (‫)ﷺ‬
 Prophet Muhammad(‫)ﷺ‬ imparted to his Companions and
practiced himself.
 It is Sunnah. Means Ibadah + Health + Reward
 Saving huge medical bills.
 Diseases and conditions treated by Tib-e-nabvi(‫)ﷺ‬ include
loss of appetite, anorexia, aerophagy (burping), flatulence,
gastritis, peptic ulcer, stomach cancer, gastroenteritis,
dysentery, diarrhea, cholera, typhoid fever, intestinal
tuberculosis, colon cancer, diseases of the liver, hepatitis,
jaundice, diseases of the gall bladder, intestinal worms,
ascities (water filling in the stomach), constipation, piles,
hemorrhoids, diabetes, and indigestion (dyspepsia).

ETIQUETTES OF EATING IN ISLAM
 “Eat and drink but avoid excess“ -Qura’n (20:81)
 “The son of Adam does not fill any vessel worse than his
stomach. It is sufficient for the son of Adam to eat a few
mouthfuls, to keep him going. If he must do that (fill his stomach),
then let him fill one third with food, one third with drink and one
third with air.”
-Tirmidhi (1381), Ibn Maajah (3349)
 "A believer eats in one intestine (is satisfied with a little food) and
a non-believer eats in seven intestines (eats much)."
-Sahi Bukhari:305

ETIQUETTES OF DRINKING IN ISLAM
 None of you should drink while
standing; and if anyone forgets,
he must vomit. -Sahi Muslim:2026
 Do not drink in one gulp like a camel, but in two or
three (gulps). Mention the Name of Allah (i.e., say
Bismillah) when you start drinking and praise Him
(i.e., say Al-hamdu lillah) after you have finished
(drinking).“ –Tirmidhi :758

• "The Miswaak cleanses and purifies the mouth and pleases the
Rubb." - Ibn-majah:289
• “Jibrael(A.S) recommanded to use the Miswaak so much that I
thought the Miswaak would be made obligatory'.“ -Ibn-majah
• “These (practices), viz., Miswaak, Witr Salaat and Tahajjud Salaat,
are Sunnat for you and Fardh for me'." -Hadith
• “If I did not feel that it would be difficult upon my Ummah, I would
have commanded them to perform miswak with every Wudu.“

 The greatest benefit of using miswaak is gaining the pleasure of Allah.
 The reward of Salaah (Prayers) is multiplied 70 times if Miswaak was
used before it.
 Strengthens the gums and prevents tooth decay.
 Creates a fragrance in the mouth.
 Eliminates bad odors and improves the sense of taste.
 Sharpens the memory.
 Is a cure for headaches.
 Creates luster (noor) on the face of the one who continually uses it.
 Causes the teeth to glow.
 Strengthens the eyesight.
 Assists in digestion.
 Clears the voice.

WHAT WORLD SAY ABOUT
MISWAK?
 A 2003 scientific study comparing the use of
miswak with ordinary toothbrushes concluded
that the results clearly were in favor of the users
who had been using the miswak
 The World Health Organization (WHO)
recommended the use of the miswak in 1986 and
in 2000 in an international consensus report on
oral hygiene

Qur’an says:
• When Maryam(as) the mother of Prophet Jesus(as) was giving birth
to him and she was experiencing pain, she was told to: ” Shake the
trunk of the palm towards you and fresh, ripe dates will drop down
onto you.” Holy Qur’an, 19:23-26
Allah's Messenger (‫ﷺ‬ ) Said:
• “A family which has dates will not be hungry.” -Sahih Muslim:5078
• "Amongst the trees, there is a tree, the leaves of which do not fall
and is like a Muslim. It is the date-palm tree.“ -Sahih Bukhari:58
• “Ajwa Date is the food of paradise.” Tirmidhi:2068
• “If Somebody takes seven ‘Ajwa dates’ in the morning, neither
magic nor poison will hurt him that day.” Sahih Bukhari:664

follow the ways made easy for you by your Lord. From their bellies comes
a drink of different colors in which there is healing for people. There truly is a
sign in this for people who think.” -Qura’n 16:68-69
•“A description of the Garden which is promised to the pious; in it are rivers of
water which shall never pollute; and rivers of milk the taste of which shall never
change; and rivers of wine delicious to drink; and rivers of purified honey;”

•“Honey is a remedy for every illness and the Qur’an is a remedy for all illness of
the mind, therefore I recommend to you both remedies, the Qur’an and Honey.”

• In Arabic it is called ‫البركة‬ ‫ّة‬‫ب‬‫ح‬ḥabbat al-barakah 'the seed of blessing‘.
• Black cumin is mentioned in the book of Isaih in the Old Testament (Isaiah
28:25)
• Black cumin is also used in Ayurvedic medicine.
• Discoredes, a Greek physician of the 1st Century A.D. recorded that Black
cumins were taken to treat Headaches, nasal congestion, toothache, and
intestinal worms
• Ibn Sina (980-1037), most famous for his volumes called "The Canon of
Medicine" , regarded by many as the most famous book in the history of
medicine, East or west, refers to Black cumin as the seed " that's stimulates the
body's energy and helps recovery from fatigue or dispiritedness”.
• In 1997 at the Cancer Research Laboratory of Hilton Head Island, South
Carolina. The Hilton Head study showed a 250 percent increase in bone marrow
production along with a 50 percent inhibition in tumor growth with the use of
Black cumin.

 "Cupping (hijama) on an empty stomach is best. In it is a
cure and a blessing. It improves the intellect and the
memory...“
 "Whoever performs cupping (hijama) on the 17th, 19th or
21st day (of the Islamic, lunar month) then it is a cure for
every disease.“ Sunan abi Dawud:3861

(Allah has sworn by the fig & olive is principally due to the immense benefit it extends)
•“Also a tree (Olive) springing out of Mount Sinai, which produces
oil, and relish for those who use it for food.” Qur’an 23:20
•Prophet Muhammed (‫)ﷺ‬ Said:
•"Eat the olive oil and apply it (locally), since there is cure
for seventy diseases in it, one of them is Leprosy.".

•Olive oil is naturally free of the 5 main culprits that
