The Three Amigos t-shirt project was not initially successful with their original plans of protests, Facebook, and Canvas advertising. Their political messages were too polarizing for local businesses. They then focused their efforts on personal networks, with one friend working a side job, another targeting the College Republicans, and a third leveraging connections in the marching band. Their most successful design was an "EAT A ROCK" tank targeting the band members' needs during hot practices. Selling directly to the band members through their Facebook group and meetings, they sold 84 tanks for a total profit of $452.76.
