Check boiler lagging, furnace tubes, cleaniness, and
efficiency of economiser scrapper
If furnace plate is burnt it is cracked or its is not
possible to fit it, than there is a heavy leakage
through bridge wall. Repair it
Side flue damper, connection of boiler door, and
economiser setting be closed by fire caly.
THE Crack produced in brick work setting is removed
by more than one layer of coal tar or whitewash
Check the leakage of feed-check vlave, blow –off cock,
Economiser, relif valve in closed positio.
4. Check stocker steam jet. Change the oversize jet.
Clean the boiler feed water pump with hot water.
Lubricate moving parts.
Adjust low water alarm properly hence it will operate

PRECAUTIONS IN THE BOILER
AS PER IBR
Boiler is a high pressure vessel. It should be run safe operating
limit. It should be regularly cleaned, repair and maintain. If it burst
than there is dangerous effect of this bursting .
Hence in our country certain rules are made and published for
proper safety of the boiler. There are certain restrictions for owner
of the boiler. This act is known as Indian boiler ACT- 1923. The
owner of the boiler has to follow certain regulations.
6. 1. Boiler cannot be run without obtaining
registration from chief inspector of boiler.
2. The maximum pressure of the boiler is decided
by boiler inspector. The boiler inspector will give
certificate for that. In no circumstances. Boiler
can be operated at the pressure more than that
pressure.
3. the owner not strictly following boiler rules can
be procecuted and will be fined as per rules.
4. The rules and regulations indicating boiler,
maintenance, upkeeping of boiler, its sub-rules,
controls, procedure for boiler registration, time of
inspection, maximum steam pressure, and other
requirements for internal safety, etc………
