Mössner Alternate Ending
It was with great regret and resignation that Mössner closed the door, its fragile clack
ricocheting between the atoms in his brain. He shuddered, chills resonating through him. The
air was suddenly very cold. Mössner had decided that he was well and proper done with his
job. He was resigning. He d left his keys and papers on the desk and his card tucked into his
screener, but he d be keeping his node. Appearances, Mössner knew more than anyone, mattered
greatly in some societies. When he was free of the building, he held up the node and clicked it. The
human body melted away, fizzling into the aether, leaving the disgruntled programmer with only a
blinding handful of pale blue light. Content, he floated across the street and zipped upwards into the
sky. The world fell away behind him. Mössner glanced back, flickering. Then he turned and drifted

freshly picked rosemary all over her apron and stood wondering where in the world she had

stored the plant in her pockets and returned to work. Mössner drifted down to the planet, tired
and at a painfully low energy level, and dropped down behind a house, clicking back into
shiftable human shape. He would appear different to each who saw him to prevent being

Tremendous technological shifts occurred during semi skilled employees in the labor force.
Many of the AFL unions did not want to enroll semi skilled production employees. Some AFL
leaders thought that a separate union would be needed for each company s or industry s product.
The union membership increased dramatically in the 1930 s and 19*40 s that had five factors to
account for the growth of the unions during that period of strong leadership, realistic goals,
effective use of the sit down strik tactic, passage of the National Labor Relations act, and changes

Studying Electrical Engineering Benefits Humanity
Studying Electrical Engineering Benefits Humanity
Introduction
In 1882, the Physics Department of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) offered the
first optional course in electrical engineering (Berry, DiPiazza, Sauer, 2003, p.467). Since that time
electrical engineers have led the way in fields ranging from communications to transportation,
computing and electricity generation. This means that the devices and systems that people take for
granted in their daily lives have come into existence due largely to the efforts of electrical
engineers. Televisions, cell phones, stereos, computers, robotics, medical technologies, and the
Internet, along with the electrical generation that powers them all, were made possible through the

Though DC is still used in many devices, it is alternating current that delivers electricity into homes
and businesses throughout the world today. This may be the most important engineering feat of the
late 19th and 20th centuries. Brining electricity to customers throughout the world changed
people s lives forever. From simple electrical lighting to appliances such as refrigerators and
ovens, life changes in innumerable ways and these changes continued to accelerate as
technology expanded and was used in new and exciting ways. It was the engineers who led this
charge and made the technologies both safe and efficient. Today we take many of these changes
for granted, but at the time the impact was immediate and dramatic. It was only a generation
earlier that many people had to rely on carrying water to their homes and heating it over a fire for
baths or cooking. They had no way to keep food from spoiling in hot summer months. They had to
light their homes and businesses with dangerous open flame sources of light and heat. All of this
changed rapidly with the introduction of electricity into homes. Washers, dryers, dishwashers,
radios, televisions, vacuum cleaners and all other sorts of devices designed to improve and
simplify lives would soon find

The Technological Accessibility And Socioeconomic Mobility...
I remember travelling to the resort and marvelling at the engineering feat of the Cayo Santa
Maria (CSM) causeway in Cuba. The design of the causeway functioned as a method of
connecting small parchments of man made land to the larger archipelagos. Despite the
devastation of Hurricane Katrina in 05, the causeway remained proportionately intact. During
my visit in 11, however, the causeway was noted for its damaged bridges still in need of further
repair1. The causeway itself (for the most part) is unlit. Due to the (prior) partisan embargo
against Cuba, the CSM is a main artery for tourist flow with it being the major route to the
resort(s). The main archipelago supports twelve hotels the first built in 01 is quite incredible,
considering the limitations placed on the technological accessibility and socioeconomic
mobility of Cuban workers. While traversing on the CSM causeway, I distinctly thought of the
abundance of people travelling Cuba s main highway earlier. I had asked the guide, (foolishly,)
Where are they going? To work . It was considered a privilege, I learned, to be able to work on
the archipelagos at least you wouldn t have to walk to work2. A walk that took the workers half
of their day. The CSM causeway is very narrow, a two lane 48 km stretch; I was curious to how
the resort workers (unable to walk the causeway) made it to work. Transportation being expensive,
based not primarily vehicle ownership but public transportation, again, how do they

Fear In The Hunger Games, By Suzanne Collins
In the Hunger Games, author Suzanne Collins presents the idea that when people are feeling
fear the do unexpected things that can affect them in a positive or negative way. The author,
Suzanne Collins, shows this when Prim s, Katniss sister, name is called for her to become a
tribute. In the text it says, One time, when i was in a blind in a tree, waiting motionless for game
to wonder by, I dozed off and fell ten feet to the ground, landing on my back. It was as if the
impact had knocked every wisp of air from my lungs, and I lay there struggling to inhale, to
exhale, to do anything. That s how I feel now, trying to remember how to breath, unable to speak,
totally stunned as the name bounces around the inside my skull. Someone is gripping my arm, a
boy from the Seam, and I think maybe I started to fall and he caught me (Collins, 21).... Show more

Katniss volunteered as tribute, taking her sisters place in the games. She was scared that her
sister wouldn t make it through the games allowed and that she would have a better chance of
surviving. Katniss saved her sisters life and put hers in danger. Another example of when
Katniss feels fear is when she is directed to a rich building. She holds back the tears to make her
look strong. In the text it says, When I sat on the couch, I can t help running my fingers over the
fabric repeatedly. It helps to claim me as I try to prepare for the next hour. The time allotted for
the tributed to say goodbye to their loved ones. I cannot afford to get upset, to leave this room
with puffy eyes and a red nose (Collins, 34). This quote shows that katniss is feeling fear by
telling herself she has to be strong. She s scared and is holding herself back from crying or
getting upset so she wont show weakness. The last piece of evidence showing that Katniss is
feeling fear is when her and Peeta step onto the train to go the the

Christopher Columbus And The Middle Of A Population Revival
In the mid 15th century, Europe was in the middle of a population revival as well as a boost in
economic activity after the Black Death. Some Iberian explorers began setting out on voyages, as
the revival created a demand of luxuries, such as spices, in the East. This expansion also was also
caused by religious fervor. The Christian reconquista encouraged the Portuguese and Spanish to
continue the Christian crusade. Portugalsent Vasco da Gama and Spainsent Christopher Columbusto
find a trading route to Asia (History, 432). Both da Gama and Columbus were sailors on a mission
to Asia, but the nature of their expedition and the consequences set them apart.
Christopher Columbus was a Genoese map maker. Knowledgeable about the ocean, he had
experience with Portuguese navigational developments and using a compass as a nautical tool.
Columbus was also a religious man, and saw Christianity as a missionary religion. In fact, he
planned to spread Christianity to the people in Asia. Columbus was not just inspired by his
Christian faith, but also by the work done by geographers and travelers before him. In his first
voyage, The Enterprise of the Indies , he set out to find a direct trading route to Asia. In 1486, he
was rejected by the Portuguese for any funding, but in 1492, the king and queen of Spain funded
his journey. Columbus is known to be a controversial figure. There are some who glorify him as a
great explorer, but others see him as an invader, taking

Niosomes are the novel carrier systems which have the bilayer structure. Niosomes can deliver
both hydrophilic and lipophilic drugs. But niosomes are unstable. There will be the aggregation,
leakage, storage and stability problems. Proniosomes are the versatile preparations which are
stable. These are the dried forms of niosomes. Zidovudine proniosomal gel was prepared of
different formulation. The permeation studies were carried using rat abdominal skin. Higher
percentage release was achieved using the Span 20 i.e., 97.55%В±1.1. Effect of lecithin and effect
of non ionic surfactants was carried out. The higher percent entrapment efficiency was achieved to
F1 formulation of about 74.70%. There was no effect of cholesterol concentration. As the lecithin
concentration was increased the percent drug release also increase but only at a certain extend. At
the certain limit surfactant concentration also increases the drug release. By using the proniosomes
as carries the bioavailability of Zidovudine increases to 97%. The proniosomes after hydration was

Pros And Cons Of US Trade With China
Although the United States trade with China seems beneficial, trade with China, a country which
does not care for even its own people, might be a bad decision. The country of China has much
lower standards for human rights, meaning that they also have little regard for the wellbeing of
people from other countries. Furthermore, China does not permit freedom of speechfor its citizens,
who have little way of pronouncing their dissatisfaction over political or other matters. Finally, to a
certain point, the Chinese people are restricted of their religious rights. Although the U.S. believes
that trade with China is beneficial for both parties, commerce with China, whose government has

Their system of filtering and censorship is acknowledged as the most advanced and effective in the
world. The Chinese internet system includes about thirty thousand censors, as well as having web
browsers, such as Google and Yahoo, censor their results.10 For an average citizen to publish their
opinions without either an elite free speech patron or a willing government publishing house, the
safest method is to publicize their thoughts through an internet bulletin board system run by the
Chinese government.11 However, these electronic bulletin boards are required by the law to be
licensed, the posts monitored constantly, and any posts which are found to be inappropriate are
removed. Any forums that are free from government censorship are forbidden, since the Chinese
authorities refuse to recognize the rights of the citizens to publish their uncensored opinions.
Furthermore, if debates over political or other issues begin to take a life of their own, they are
commonly silenced by Chinese authorities.12 The Chinese authorities only permit these monitored
bulletin boards both for their own benefit and because they recognize that there must be outlets for
the average person to express their dissatisfaction with the government.13 Allowing the citizens to
speak their mind functions to lessen the political tension, by acting as a release for their
discontentment. These boards also serve as an excuse to deflect criticism by other countries, who
complain that people in China do not enjoy freedom of expression. Additionally, they allow
government authorities to monitor the mood of their people and to find weaknesses, both in the
government and in their support. Finally, the bulletin boards allow government authorities to track
those who express discontent, keeping their expressions visible, so the authorities can trace these

An Automated System That Takes The Attendance Of Students...
In this paper, we propose an automated system that takes the attendance of students for
classroom lectures. Our system takes the attendance using face detection and face recognition.
We have constructed the lecture attendance system based on face recognition, and is applied on
the system of classroom lecture. This paper first reviews the related works in the field of
attendance management and face recognition. The face is the identity of a person. The methods
to exploit this physical feature have seen a great change since the advent of image processing
techniques. The attendance is taken in every schools, colleges and library. Traditional approach
for attendance is professor calls student name record attendance. It takes some time to record
attendance. Suppose duration of class of one subject is about 50 minutes to record attendance
takes 5 to 10 minutes. For each lecture this is wastage of time. To avoid these losses, we are
about use automatic process which is based on image processing. we are using face detection face
recognition system. The camera will be connected to the Raspberry pi module. The student
database is collected. The database includes name of the students, there images roll number. Thus
with the help of this system, time will be saved. it is so convenient to record attendance. We can
take attendance on any time. KEYWORDS: Viola Jones algorithm,Haar like feature, Image

The Lasting Implications of the Watergate Scandal
I.Introduction
I am not a crook is one of the most famous quotes from President Richard M. Nixon. Citizens of
the United States of America would hope that their president would never have to defend himself
as a crook, but that is just what happened in the presidency of Richard M. Nixon. President Nixon
had to defend himself for not being a crook because of the events famously known as the Watergate
Scandal . In 1972, members of Nixon s re election committee broke into the Democratic National
Committee s Watergate offices and stole top secret documents as well as trying to get into their
phone system. They eventually were caught and so was President Nixon which led him to his
resignation. Even though it was an unfortunate event, there have been positive outcomes because of
it. The lasting implications of the Watergate Scandal have been generally positive on society
because of the passing of Ethics in Government Act, amending the Freedom of Information Act and
42 states passing election reform laws.
II.Background
Richard M. Nixon was a former vice president who barely won the election in 1968 against
Hubert Humphrey for the Republican party. Once in his presidency, President Nixon pleased and
displeased citizens in the United States. He was not necessarily the most liked president, but he
was not the most disliked either. By 1972, it was time for the

Britain s Role In The Battle Of The Somme
The Battle of the Somme occurred during July 1 to November 18, 1916. The British and their
allies, the French, wanted to claim the Germans territory on the Western Front. Before, this war
transpired in December of 1915 the British had their allied commanders to plan and analyze how
they were going to achieve the idea of bombarding the Germans province, which, was the River

later that year in 1916. The German military intimated the French at Verdun which lead to the
British obtaining the major role in the offensive. Furthermore, the Germans were aware that the

caused war to continue throughout the year. The war started out with a ten hour attack that most of
the fighting power were pulled together to make it stronger. Although, the French were retreated by
the Germans they did not give up. Through the summer, the Germans were required to decrease
their power at Verdun subsequently when the British and Russians introduced their own assault.
Once summer passed in the Fall, the French obtained lost ground and cautiously organized their
army. Therefore, once the French got their army where it needed to be they fixed a strong
protective victory once the year had come to an end. Over this continuous war the Germans had
about 430,000 men were killed or injured and the French had around 550,000 men that were killed
or injured. The many casualties in this war overwhelmed the French political and military
compromise, which caused eternal effect on the French. The colleague strategized to demolish
Germany through orderly attacks, but, unfortunately the German offensive at the Verdun drastically

As discussed above, besides the benefits that e tailers can reap from activity based costing, this
system also brings drawbacks. Those drawbacks cause challenges for e tail corporations in
establishing the system at the beginning. Similar to other manufacturing corporations, e tail
businesses should follow basic steps to implement activity based costing. These steps are (1)
Define activities, activity cost pools, and activity measures, (2) Assign overhead costs to activity

Customers will experience the purchase through screens. This experience/interface requires that the
electronic storefront change frequently to look appealing to but still familiar to customers.
Furthermore, the goal of acquiring of new customers for an e tail business creates a motivation for
managers to establish sales channels like affiliate sales. This gives rise to the need for building and
maintaining the affiliate relationship to facilitate the integration of information about what is
happening in the affiliates websites into the ERP system of e tailers. In selecting and managing
merchandise inventory, each inventory item must be scanned, described, classified and linked to
search options on the company s website (Article). This requirement leads to a change in the
database whenever inventory items are added or removed from the shelf. IT staff must locate and
remove obsolete and discontinued items from the current database and then annotate and add them
to the backup system to assist in profitability evaluation, forecasting, and making future
manufacturing decisions. The feature of providing diverse selections of products to customers in e

brick and mortar businesses. Moreover, information technology is considered to be the backbone of

The Origins Of English Colonization Of The New World
The origins of American English date back to the beginnings of the seventeenth century and the
first successful colonization of the New World. Although the first English explorers led by Walter
Raleigh had landed on the coast some three decades before, the attempts to establish a settlement
failed due to unexpected conflicts with Native Americans. Jamestown, the first English colony
named after James I was established in 1607. It was but one of many settlements that promptly
started to fill the coast and adjacent islands. In 1620, a ship called the Mayflower landed in
Plymouth, Massachusetts. Its passengers were Puritans, also known as the Pilgrim Fathers , seeking

this forces the banks and financial institutions to look for various avenues to meet the customer

Why Did The Americans Dominate The New World Essay
We are all aware of the fact that when the Europeans traveled to the New World, they conquered
it. This has been taught to us throughout our lives. However, there are many theories as to why
the Europeans dominated the New World. There may have been many factors that led to the fall
of the people living in the New World. Thus, I believe the main three reasons I received, alliance
that was formed, and disease that was contracted from the Europeans. I believe that fear is a very
powerful weapon. Therefore, when the omens of the Tlatelolco and Nahua communities started to
become true, it struck it in their hearts. There were a total of eight omens. The first omen started
about ten years before the Spaniards came over the New World. A couple of the omens are a
tongue of fire in the sky, the mountain name of Tlacetecc burned and flared, a temple struck by
lightning, and a lake boiling. The most important omen I believe is when Moteeuccoma seen the

sent his men with gold to meet with Cortes. The strategy of the Indians was to capture the enemy
and sacrifice them later but the Spaniards objective was to just slaughter the enemy. It would
make perfect sense to make an alliance with such a strong force to avoid the destruction of ones
people and to destroy your enemies at the same time. If there is an alliance, there is no reason to

Different price is charge to different age range. Price is based to the buyers age whether they are

receives discount, this is because students and elderly are less likely not able to afford the full
price of a movie ticket as they may not have income. Thus, this pricing strategy is used among the

Broca s Hemorrhage Analysis
The haemorrhage occurred in the frontal lobe of the brain; the area closest to and impacted by
the haemorrhage is the Broca s area. The Broca s area is considered the motor speech area, which
enables the body to coordinate muscles involved in speech production (Marieb, 2013). Damage to
the Broca s area may result in symptoms that impact the ability to communicate; damage to the area
doesn t affect the ability to decipher language, but presents difficulty for communicating, as it
impacts the ability to speak, type and use sign language (Marieb, 2013). The symptoms experienced
by damaging the Broca s area reflect the symptoms experienced by John; Judy described John as

The peripheral motor division and the central nervous system are involved in voluntary movement.
The motor division of the peripheral nervous system that allows us to move our body, the somatic
nervous system is the division of the motor division that enables voluntary movement. The somatic
nervous system conducts voluntary movements by distributing impulses to skeletal muscle from
the central nervous system, allowing the conscious control of skeletal muscle through somatic
motor pathways. The information required to control skeletal muscle is generated in the brain by
the primary motor cortex, but the specific origin is dependent on the location of the skeletal
muscle, the pathway used is efferent and involves two motor neurons; the upper motor neuron exits
the brain and is projected down the spinal cord in the descending white matter tract, then the cell
body of the lower motor neuron and the axon synapse. The lower motor neuron transmits the
information to the skeletal muscle from the spinal cord; the axon exits the ventral root and
terminates at the effector. The primary motor cortex contains the cell bodies of the upper motor
neuron, while the motor nuclei of the ventral grey horn contains the cell bodies of the lower motor
neuron. Motor neuron disease is a neuron degenerative

How Did Marilyn Monroe Impact The World
Could you imagine being one of the youngest fashion icons of your generation, willing to stand
out so much that you had a dress sewn to you? Well Marilyn Monroe did (Life. Time Inc).
Marilyn Monroe brought many great ideas of beauty to the 1960 s era. Marilyn Monroe was also a
major fashion icon. An everlasting impact was made in the 1960 s through Marilyn Monroes life,
iconic style and beauty and she continues to be recognized for it even today.
Marilyn Monroe s story is different than other well known celebrities. She didn t have a perfect
childhood growing up which is one of the many things that helped her grow and become who she
was.
Marilyn Monroe had a very unique family situation. Growing up, Marilyn lived with only her
mother, Gladys Baker, for a short time ( About Marilyn Monroe ). Edward Mortenson, the father
of Marilyn Monroe had left her mother before Marilyn was born and Marilyn had never met him.

She believed that shoes played a very important role in fashion. Marilyn usually would have her
shoes specially designed for her and would also sometimes have them altered by shaving a
fraction of one heel lower than the other to help acquire her signature walk. (Mancoff, Debra).
When choosing shoes she would usually go with peep toe sandals or heels to show off her
pedicure (Dove, Laurie L). Most people think of red swarovski crystal stiletto pumps when they
think of Marilyn Monroe s signature shoe (Indulgy).
Marilyn believed in accessorizing her outfits as much as possible and she did as much as she

Starry Night And Van Gogh Analysis
The Starry Night (fig.1), painted by Vincent van Gogh in 1889, and Fountain (fig. 2), created by
Marcel Duchamp in 1914, are generally known as Modern Art. The professor Nalini Rao always
taught her students about the importance of analyzing artworks by various viewpoints in order to
appreciate underlying purposes of each artwork and how artworks are created, and The Starry Night
and Fountain actually have both similarities and differences. While both Vincent van Goghand
Marcel Duchamp used new methods for depicting and reinterpreting the world, they differ in
their reasons why they used new techniques. Duchamp is the pioneer of Modern Art because his
artwork is more related to modern society than Van Gogh s. One similarity between Vincent van
Gogh and Marcel Duchamp is that both sought new approaches to depicting the world. The
Starry Night has distortions of nature by expressive use of colors. For example, Van Gogh
depicted a moon and star filled night sky, but the crescent moon is as bright as the sun, and
eleven stars painted by green, yellow, white, and pink are similar to jewels. Moreover, the Milky
Way that looks a large swirling cloud gives individuals strong and powerful impressions of Van
Gogh s uniqueness. As shown above, Van Gogh distorted nature by using various colors, and no
one before Van Gogh depicted landscape energetically through colors according to Nathalia
BrodskaГЇa (88). In a similar way to Van Gogh s new approaches to art making, Marcel Duchamp

Perspectives On Wellbeing And Genuine Progress Indicator...
Rethinking What Counts. Perspectives on Wellbeing and Genuine Progress Indicator Metrics from
a Canadian Viewpoint Wilson Tyedmers (2013) discuss how recently the economic growth model
has been criticized, which has lead to rethinking how economic success and social wellbeing are
measured. Improved metrics have aimed to integrate social, environmental, and human welfare in
order to properly account for potential costs of economic growth (Wilson Tyedmers, 2013). Wilson
Tyedmers (2013) discuss the attempt to improve macroeconomic metrics and indicators with focus

Making adjustments to these methods and communicating their importance in an efficient way
are going to be important in the future to get more individuals behind the idea. I do question
alternatives to GDP because not everyone weighs things the same when it comes to wellbeing
therefore the use of these methods nationally or even locally might be unjustifiable. A theoretical
foundation to support the Index of Sustainable Economic Welfare (ISEW), Genuine Progress
Indicator (GPI), and other related indexes Lawn (2003) describes that ecological economists
have developed alternative indexes due to the inadequacy of GDP as a measure of human
progress, which can be use to measure and compare the benefits and costs of growth. These
alternatives to GDP such as the Index of Sustainable Economic Welfare (ISEW) and Genuine
Progress Indicator (GPI) support the threshold hypothesis but they have faced criticism based on
lack of theoretical foundation (Lawn, 2003). Lawn (2003) compares GDP, the Sustainable Net
Benefit Index (SNBI), and ISEW/GPI to the concept of income and capital as outlined by Fisher
(1906) to argue that macroeconomic alternative indexes are theoretically sound. The Fisherian view
believes economic welfare depends on psychic enjoyment of life and not on production or

Patriotism In Greek Art
People have different perspectives of different types of artwork, therefore is it possible to
differentiate between what is appropriate for the public and what is not? Conservatives are often
appalled by more explicit piece of art because it is too revealing. Some may even consider some
artwork too similar to pornography, but there is nothing wrong with that. It is said that Pornography
comes in as many varieties as the human sexual impulse and is protected by the First Amendment
unless it meets the definition for illegal obscenity(American Civil Liberties 6). Therefore, it is
legal to have revealing pieces of art as long as they do not fall into the category of obscenity.
People believe the human body is a beautiful piece of art but so is the sky. Different people
appreciate different things. It all depends on perspective. Additionally, William Schramm
opened an erotic art gallery. He had heard people were bringing their artwork hours away
because the local galleries would not display them. He says, I may not agree with some of the
images in here, they might not be my cup of tea, but I will defend their right to show it (Silva 2).

Management Styles Of Costco And Wal Mart
Management styles affect every part of a company. The way executives chose to lead a company
can affect the path which it takes, whether it is good or bad, that is up to management and their
leaders. The following discussion on the management and corporate structures of Wal Mart and
Costco will be evidence for how Wal Mart could benefit from using some of Costco s corporate
business practices. The managementstyles of Costco and Wal Mart will be analyzed in the
following paper that has been researched. The analysis of this topic will reveal that both Costco and
Wal Mart have some similarities, but mostly they have very different management stylesthat have
bent them in different directions but with the same goal. Costco was the first company to grow
from zero to $3 billion in sales in just 5 years. For the year ending on August 31, 201, the
company s sales totaled $99 billion, with $1.7 billion net profit. Costco is 19th on the 2014

company operates under its own name in the United States, including the 50 states. It operates in
Mexico as Walmex, in the United Kingdom as Asda, in Japan as Seiyu, and in India as Best Price.

Descriptive Essay On Getting A Dog
One of my favorite memories I have is getting my dog, Daisy. Even though I had two dogs before
this dog was special. It was a lot of work to get her and it made me more appreciate that I actually
got a dog.
My step sister Mia and I were asking for a dog for a long time. We would always watch The
Animal Channel show about dogs or vet, and it would make us think about how much we wanted a
dog. Both of us had dogs before, but we did not have one anymore, we either got rid of them or
they were with our other parent we didn t live with. So we would keep asking my dad over and
over and bribe him by saying we would clean the house and clean and take care of the dog. One day
before my sisters dance recital Mia and I were in the middle of watching TV when we saw an ad
for a free dog we ran outside and begged for a dog. So he said he would think about it if we all
could behave and keep the house clean. So we worked our hardest to keep the house clean, from
cleaning my little brother s bedroom to cleaning both bathrooms. He lived up to his promise and
started looking at dogs on Facebook we found one that was close by in Norwich and we were so
excited when we found out that we were going to meet him after my brothers game. We were so
excited at the game that we walked around to pass the time we sat on the dock at the park next to
the field and were so excited we thought looking in the river would help pass time but it really
made it go by slower. When we got in the car after the

Lake Pollution Issues
The issue regarding the Lake of the Ozarks is one that has been floating around for some time.
The water quality has gone down the drain in recent years due to numerous factors such as
leaking sewage and trash pollution. This issue is an environmental concern because it makes the
escherichia coli (e. coli) levels in the water go up, which can lead to illnesses and deaths of people
and animals across the area. There was said to have been as much as 15,000 gallons of sewage that
led directly into the Lake of the Ozarks(DNR). This is obviously a problem because it is affecting
the health of everyone and everything; however, people are asking why it may matter.
Many people care about their lake. It s where they can go to swim and hang out with friends.
Residents care about the pollution issue that is going on because more and more people are
deciding to live by the lake full time which increases lake pollution. Another aspect that is being
affected with the pollution are the animals in the water. The e. coli levels in the area are shifting
because of the pollution issues. When the sewage is released into the lake it most definitely does
not help with keeping the lake clean. As more pollution problems come up, they need to be fixed
by the public living there. The residents surrounding the lake need to pay more attention of what is
being thrown into the lake and the status of their sewage tanks to insure they are not leaking or
damaged. If those tasks are fixed little by little

Zayed- Man Who Built A Nation
As a matter of fact, I have chosen a book titled Zayed Man Who Built A Nation . because I am
attracted by its title. The book that includes 734 pages, covered all details about the life of late
Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan. I always influenced by the president of Emirates Arab
behavior the founding father of the EAU, and those who have escorted him throughout his long life.
The book comprises the challenges that Sheikh Zayed confronted since 1971 until his death in
2004. My interest is to illustrate the exclusive accomplishments of Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al
Nahyana Bedouin who lived in the desert and a leader of his people and for the good of the world.
The book of Zayed: Man Who Built a Nation was written by Graeme H. Wilson. (2013).
In the first place, the book mentioned that Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan was born in 1912
on the poor isolated and largely ignored Trucial Coast. He was the youngest of the four sons, his
father. As a member of the ruling class, his childhood could be considered to be relatively
privileged, but it was also one scarred by the difficulties of the era. The tragic death of his father,
regional economic collapse and difficult political conditions meant that it was a hard, uncertain life.
Sheikh Zayed emerged through this with a reputation as a leader of note. While his brother, Sheikh
Shakhbout, was Ruler of Abu Dhabi, Sheikh Zayed served as the Wali of Al Ain, a period in which
he revived the economy of the area and became famous

Boxing History
Boxing is one of the oldest known sports, from 2,000 year old depictions on the walls of tombs in
Egypt, to stone carvings indicating that Sumerians, who lived in what is now Iraq, boxed over
5,000 years ago. However, this is not the boxing that we know today, it was once a more exhausting
and brutal sport. In ancient Greece, two men would sit face to face with their fists wrapped in strips
of leather. They would hit each other until one of them fell to the ground unconscious or dead.
Roman fighters wore cestuses, leather straps plated with metal, which promoted shortened bouts.
The sport was eventually prohibited due to the inhumane violence. Boxingwould not reappear until
the late 1600s in England. Then, in the 1700s modern boxing was introduced,... Show more content

One of the most famous incidents dealt with Muhammad Ali in 1967. During this time, he was
the undefeated heavyweight champion of the world and highly acclaimed. Ali was arguably in

to his beliefs in his newfound Muslim faith, and refused to join the draft. He was stripped of his

influential boxing commission at the time, decided to revoke Ali s boxing license before he was

to make enough money to put food on the table and pay his bills. Ali was reinstated in 1970, but
three of his best years as a professional were gone. Ali was close to 30, leaving the world to only

Impact Of Doublespeak In My Life
Throughout my life I believe that I have experienced quite a lot of doublespeak. The largest
impact of doublespeak was when I was younger and both of my grandma s got cancer. At the age of

overthrew him. Now Cronus was the leader, he married his sister Rhea and had kids, but
swallowed them because it was told they would overthrow him one day. Zeus, Cronus son

Commentary: Gaea and Rhea are looked at as the mothers who actually wanted their children to be

being shot in Africa. It connects because the lion that was shot was the male, now if another male

Analysis of The Kite Runner
The book: The Kite Runner , (2003) by Khaled Hosseini, describes the life of Amir, whose
experience of growing up parallels the developments in his home country: Afghanistan. These
similarities are reflected in the bildungsroman through a variety of symbols and stylistic devices.
Specifically, the use of invective language Amir calling his half brother a Hazaara boy (Hosseini,
2003, p. 275) and the Taliban glorifying their crimes as ethnic cleansing (Hosseini, 2003, p. 261)

 • 2. MГ¶ssner Alternate Ending It was with great regret and resignation that MГ¶ssner closed the door, its fragile clack ricocheting between the atoms in his brain. He shuddered, chills resonating through him. The air was suddenly very cold. MГ¶ssner had decided that he was well and proper done with his job. He was resigning. He d left his keys and papers on the desk and his card tucked into his screener, but he d be keeping his node. Appearances, MГ¶ssner knew more than anyone, mattered greatly in some societies. When he was free of the building, he held up the node and clicked it. The human body melted away, fizzling into the aether, leaving the disgruntled programmer with only a blinding handful of pale blue light. Content, he floated across the street and zipped upwards into the sky. The world fell away behind him. MГ¶ssner glanced back, flickering. I dunno, said MГ¶ssner. I ll find someone. Twelve billion odd light years in the distance, a young woman spilt freshly picked rosemary all over her apron and stood wondering where in the world she had acquired freshly picked rosemary. Entirely alright with this sudden addition to her garden, she stored the plant in her pockets and returned to work. MГ¶ssner drifted down to the planet, tired and at a painfully low energy level, and dropped down behind a house, clicking back into shiftable human shape. He would appear different to each who saw him to prevent being noticed. Dusting earth off his stomach, he scrambled up and began the long search for a means of transport. He decided on a middle class car. Being who he was, MГ¶ssner had essentially infinite of anything, since he had created everything, and so he got a car without any issue and he drove and drove until he came to a small yellow house in a lovely forested suburb, surrounded by various ... This may be the most important engineering feat of the late 19th and 20th centuries. Brining electricity to customers throughout the world changed people s lives forever. From simple electrical lighting to appliances such as refrigerators and ovens, life changes in innumerable ways and these changes continued to accelerate as technology expanded and was used in new and exciting ways. It was the engineers who led this charge and made the technologies both safe and efficient. Today we take many of these changes for granted, but at the time the impact was immediate and dramatic. It was only a generation earlier that many people had to rely on carrying water to their homes and heating it over a fire for baths or cooking. They had no way to keep food from spoiling in hot summer months. They had to light their homes and businesses with dangerous open flame sources of light and heat. All of this changed rapidly with the introduction of electricity into homes. • 5. The Technological Accessibility And Socioeconomic Mobility... I remember travelling to the resort and marvelling at the engineering feat of the Cayo Santa Maria (CSM) causeway in Cuba. The design of the causeway functioned as a method of connecting small parchments of man made land to the larger archipelagos. Despite the devastation of Hurricane Katrina in 05, the causeway remained proportionately intact. During my visit in 11, however, the causeway was noted for its damaged bridges still in need of further repair1. The causeway itself (for the most part) is unlit. Due to the (prior) partisan embargo against Cuba, the CSM is a main artery for tourist flow with it being the major route to the resort(s). The main archipelago supports twelve hotels the first built in 01 is quite incredible, considering the limitations placed on the technological accessibility and socioeconomic mobility of Cuban workers. While traversing on the CSM causeway, I distinctly thought of the abundance of people travelling Cuba s main highway earlier. I had asked the guide, (foolishly,) Where are they going? To work . It was considered a privilege, I learned, to be able to work on the archipelagos at least you wouldn t have to walk to work2. A walk that took the workers half of their day. The CSM causeway is very narrow, a two lane 48 km stretch; I was curious to how the resort workers (unable to walk the causeway) made it to work. Transportation being expensive, based not primarily vehicle ownership but public transportation, again, how do they ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Fear In The Hunger Games, By Suzanne Collins In the Hunger Games, author Suzanne Collins presents the idea that when people are feeling fear the do unexpected things that can affect them in a positive or negative way. The author, Suzanne Collins, shows this when Prim s, Katniss sister, name is called for her to become a tribute. In the text it says, One time, when i was in a blind in a tree, waiting motionless for game to wonder by, I dozed off and fell ten feet to the ground, landing on my back. It was as if the impact had knocked every wisp of air from my lungs, and I lay there struggling to inhale, to exhale, to do anything. That s how I feel now, trying to remember how to breath, unable to speak, totally stunned as the name bounces around the inside my skull. Katniss volunteered as tribute, taking her sisters place in the games. She was scared that her sister wouldn t make it through the games allowed and that she would have a better chance of surviving. Katniss saved her sisters life and put hers in danger. Another example of when Katniss feels fear is when she is directed to a rich building. She holds back the tears to make her look strong. The time allotted for the tributed to say goodbye to their loved ones. I cannot afford to get upset, to leave this room with puffy eyes and a red nose (Collins, 34). The professor Nalini Rao always taught her students about the importance of analyzing artworks by various viewpoints in order to appreciate underlying purposes of each artwork and how artworks are created, and The Starry Night and Fountain actually have both similarities and differences. While both Vincent van Goghand Marcel Duchamp used new methods for depicting and reinterpreting the world, they differ in their reasons why they used new techniques. A theoretical foundation to support the Index of Sustainable Economic Welfare (ISEW), Genuine Progress Indicator (GPI), and other related indexes Lawn (2003) describes that ecological economists have developed alternative indexes due to the inadequacy of GDP as a measure of human progress, which can be use to measure and compare the benefits and costs of growth. Lawn (2003) compares GDP, the Sustainable Net Benefit Index (SNBI), and ISEW/GPI to the concept of income and capital as outlined by Fisher (1906) to argue that macroeconomic alternative indexes are theoretically sound. The Fisherian view believes economic welfare depends on psychic enjoyment of life and not on production or consumption rate (Lawn, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
 • 26. Patriotism In Greek Art People have different perspectives of different types of artwork, therefore is it possible to differentiate between what is appropriate for the public and what is not? Conservatives are often appalled by more explicit piece of art because it is too revealing. Some may even consider some artwork too similar to pornography, but there is nothing wrong with that. It is said that Pornography comes in as many varieties as the human sexual impulse and is protected by the First Amendment unless it meets the definition for illegal obscenity(American Civil Liberties 6). Therefore, it is legal to have revealing pieces of art as long as they do not fall into the category of obscenity. People believe the human body is a beautiful piece of art but so is the sky. Different people appreciate different things. It all depends on perspective. Additionally, William Schramm opened an erotic art gallery. He had heard people were bringing their artwork hours away because the local galleries would not display them. He says, I may not agree with some of the images in here, they might not be my cup of tea, but I will defend their right to show it (Silva 2). Schramm is a perfect example of how art should be treated. He is ethically correct because he wants all types of art to have their chance to shine because... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... It was a lot of work to get her and it made me more appreciate that I actually got a dog. My step sister Mia and I were asking for a dog for a long time. We would always watch The Animal Channel show about dogs or vet, and it would make us think about how much we wanted a dog. Both of us had dogs before, but we did not have one anymore, we either got rid of them or they were with our other parent we didn t live with. So we would keep asking my dad over and over and bribe him by saying we would clean the house and clean and take care of the dog. One day before my sisters dance recital Mia and I were in the middle of watching TV when we saw an ad for a free dog we ran outside and begged for a dog. So he said he would think about it if we all could behave and keep the house clean. So we worked our hardest to keep the house clean, from cleaning my little brother s bedroom to cleaning both bathrooms. He lived up to his promise and started looking at dogs on Facebook we found one that was close by in Norwich and we were so excited when we found out that we were going to meet him after my brothers game. • 31. Lake Pollution Issues The issue regarding the Lake of the Ozarks is one that has been floating around for some time. The water quality has gone down the drain in recent years due to numerous factors such as leaking sewage and trash pollution. This issue is an environmental concern because it makes the escherichia coli (e. coli) levels in the water go up, which can lead to illnesses and deaths of people and animals across the area. There was said to have been as much as 15,000 gallons of sewage that led directly into the Lake of the Ozarks(DNR). This is obviously a problem because it is affecting the health of everyone and everything; however, people are asking why it may matter. Many people care about their lake. It s where they can go to swim and hang out with friends. Residents care about the pollution issue that is going on because more and more people are deciding to live by the lake full time which increases lake pollution. Another aspect that is being affected with the pollution are the animals in the water. The e. coli levels in the area are shifting because of the pollution issues. When the sewage is released into the lake it most definitely does not help with keeping the lake clean. As more pollution problems come up, they need to be fixed by the public living there. The residents surrounding the lake need to pay more attention of what is being thrown into the lake and the status of their sewage tanks to insure they are not leaking or damaged. If those tasks are fixed little by little ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The book comprises the challenges that Sheikh Zayed confronted since 1971 until his death in 2004. My interest is to illustrate the exclusive accomplishments of Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyana Bedouin who lived in the desert and a leader of his people and for the good of the world. The book of Zayed: Man Who Built a Nation was written by Graeme H. Wilson. (2013). In the first place, the book mentioned that Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan was born in 1912 on the poor isolated and largely ignored Trucial Coast. He was the youngest of the four sons, his father. As a member of the ruling class, his childhood could be considered to be relatively privileged, but it was also one scarred by the difficulties of the era. The tragic death of his father, regional economic collapse and difficult political conditions meant that it was a hard, uncertain life. Sheikh Zayed emerged through this with a reputation as a leader of note. While his brother, Sheikh Shakhbout, was Ruler of Abu Dhabi, Sheikh Zayed served as the Wali of Al Ain, a period in which he revived the economy of the area and became famous ... Boxing History Boxing is one of the oldest known sports, from 2,000 year old depictions on the walls of tombs in Egypt, to stone carvings indicating that Sumerians, who lived in what is now Iraq, boxed over 5,000 years ago. However, this is not the boxing that we know today, it was once a more exhausting and brutal sport. In ancient Greece, two men would sit face to face with their fists wrapped in strips of leather. They would hit each other until one of them fell to the ground unconscious or dead. Roman fighters wore cestuses, leather straps plated with metal, which promoted shortened bouts. The sport was eventually prohibited due to the inhumane violence. Boxingwould not reappear until the late 1600s in England. Then, in the 1700s modern boxing was introduced,... Specifically, the use of invective language Amir calling his half brother a Hazaara boy (Hosseini, 2003, p. 275) and the Taliban glorifying their crimes as ethnic cleansing (Hosseini, 2003, p. 261) reveals a long standing history racism in society.
