Babesiosis, also known as tick-borne fever, is a disease affecting cattle, buffaloes, sheep, and goats. It is characterized by fever, enlargement of superficial lymph nodes, and anemia and jaundice. The disease presents in three forms - peracute, acute, and chronic. The peracute form causes high fever, loss of appetite, and depression, sometimes leading to death within 3-4 days. The acute form features recurring fever over several days along with lymph node swelling, eye issues, nasal discharge, coughing, and difficulty breathing eventually resulting in jaundice.
